[Name] - Iris Jiang [Alias/Code Name] - Crystal [Age] - 18 [Affiliation/Occupation] – Independent! [Ethnicity/Nationality] - Chinese/Mexican/ U.S citizen [Criminal Record] - Where to begin... -A couple of assault charges, trespassing, vandalism and scam charges, that was by the time she turned 17 so her parents get all the credit. [Height] -5'3 [Weight] -115 lbs [Appearance] - -Eyes: Hazel (a green-honey tint to them) -Hair: Pitch black -Complexion: Light with a golden/olive hint to the skin, smooth. Iris is short and all muscle. Light on her feet she makes the perfect little hooligan since her build allows her to scurry away just from about anything. There's a couple of scars in her body, a scar on her right temple and another on her abdominal area that stretches from the bellybutton to the lower potions of her right breast. [Personality] - Your basic teen full with insecurities, Iris tends to try and please everyone around her so that sometimes people take advantage of her. A bit of a push over, however, she does have her temper. A stubborn hardhead when she wants and a bit of a sheep too. Despite popular belief she has little street smarts and a lot more book smarts than someone her age should have. "Chemistry is fun!" she said and then got a beat up after school. The conclusion can be made that Iris is a "nerd". [Mutant Class] - Epsilon [Power Level] - 6 [Powers] --So the basic functionality of Iris' power are based on being able to shift the atomic spatial arrangement of the carbon molecules in a substance so that she can turn it into a crystal state, a melted state, or a gas state. -The way her power works is that the kinetic energy in the carbon atom are tapped into and thus the arrangement disturbed changing the composition of a substance. -Power also allows for the control of carbon-based substances; which is to say she can shape them into whatever she wishes -The stimuli to change the carbon-based objects come in two ways: telepathic, which usually works with inanimate objects, and physical which works in humans and other more complex living beings. -Powers and Effect on Humans/animals/insects/ in general living things: +Iris' powers on living things work from only close ranges, talking about a foot away. Usually contact is needed though for any of her power to work. A loss of feeling can be felt when her power is working on living things, thus, pulling away will always work to stop her. Power to usually change a human is quite fast, give or take a few seconds[lets say somewhere between a range of 30-40sec]( Iris has enough control over her power that is she were to hug someone she won't "accidentally" turn them to crystal.) +Lower living organisms aren't so lucky, as her power works fine in carbon based inanimate objects from a distance. -Different crytals take different time, easy arrangements like quartz it takes less time, which is what Iris sticks too, diamonds are more stable so they would actually take less time, as it gets rid of the pressure factor. [Weaknesses/Limitations] - -For the matter phase change requires the touch of Iris in order to work. No touch, means she can't tap into the potential energy within the carbon molecules. -Shaping carbon-based substances on the other hand works from a distance of up to 30 yards away. And it's basic, carbon based substances are malleable by her power, in a telekinetic sort of way. -Same as any humans. Unless one is attacking her with something carbon based, then she can take action and kick ass. -Not much has been done to harness Iris' power but with some help her power might improve(I guess that can be considered a weakness, right?) -Constant touch to change a person must be kept for all 30-40 to change them. Usually after that no more change as Iris' powers are kind of done for. -Using her power to change things to crystal is that the mass is transfered to gravity pull(that is to say she takes on the changed mass. The more things she changes the less she can move). [Skills] - Basic knowledge of the sciences; Chemistry has become quite handy in making nice explosives for her 'independent' work after school hours. Iris has also picked up a few things here and there like picking pockets, locks, and the wonderful art of acting! She takes advantage of the fact that she looks kind of younger than she is to mug people from time to time. [Possessions] - ummm... her allowance! Iris has a nice account in some bank and is now allowed to touch it! Other than that she has an old car and a nice apartment(nice meaning it doesn't have rats or cockroaches). [History] - Upper middle class family, took vacations to places like Hawaii, China, and Japan just for fun in the middle of the year. Other than that...well, Iris won’t say much. At 19 I question the control of this power which can be very devastating, the 5 is not bad, but still. It becomes a question of when have powers manifested, how long they have been used/excepted, and a question of training. I'm not listing this something directed to this character exactly, but something general. As for the limitations, since you mentioned that it is like a telepathic connection I would expect some wear and tear from the use of these powers. THe general stuff like the bigger the change, the bigger the knock back on the character. Personally I'm not a super scientist so I'm trying my best to grasp this and slaughter the theroy. So my hints for improving the character? Some connection between physical effects on her body AFTER this transmutation, I can understand if its something like a pipe its not that hard, but anything that gets to large...And I imagine trying to use this on a living life form would be very hard, because I don't want -hug and crystalize- going on to easily, a chance to fight back and such. Its easy to say no to this, but I say yes. |

Charo... I am looking at the mutant class... and I disagree. She is more an Epsilon. Also, I agree with Josh on what he is saying completely. Y... tu sabes que te amo, amiga! |

This character is certainly an Epsilon, not an Alpha. I am also interested in the time frame for rearranging atomic structure. I would presume it takes more time, for example, to create diamond (and isomers thereof) than to break down wood or bone. |
