Crush With Eyeliner!
[Name] - Shuho Sakai
[Alias/Code Name] - Wyrd
[Age] - 29
[Affiliation/Occupation] - Independent / Terrorist!
[Ethnicity/Nationality] - Japanese / American citizen
[Criminal Record] - Cleared of felony violence charges

[Height] - 151 cm / 60 in
[Weight] - 46 kg / 101 lbs
[Appearance] - Petulance is a pretty girl! And Shuho is too. With lovely cinnamon hair, pretty chocolate eyes, and remarkable golden olive complexion, Shuho looks a good deal more pure and innocent than she actually is. This is aided by cosmetic spending that borders on neurotic. Shuho spends more on her hair and skin care regimens than most families spend on rent and food combined. One can't deny that it has kept her looking absolutely spectacular despite the stress of technological innovation and terrorist plotting.
[Personality] - At the surface, Shuho is quite sweet and charming. Ever polite and pleasent to be around, she makes friends quickly and rarely makes enemies without express effort. Shuho has, over the past six years, gone through a long chain of ill-fated love affairs, and due to her repeated failures at making meaningful long-term connections, she has become emotionally dependant on pornography. Extraordinarily intelligent and innovative, Shuho has nonetheless failed to decipher the greatest mystery of all, human companionship.
[Mutant Class] - Beta
[Power Level] - 9
[Powers] - Accoustikinesis. Shuho can create and manipulate accoustic pressure in the air (sound waves) and use this to devastating affect. She can use it for minor effects, such as disrupting the equilibrium or lulling grown men to sleep, or for major effects such as disintegrating internal organs and liquefying objects. By identifying the resonant frequency of a material, Shuho can shatter most any physical substance - including adamantium - with limited effort. Particularly resistant substances (such as adamantium) take longer to liquefy, but sympathic vibration always wins out in the end. Wakandan vibranium seems to be the only substance utterly unaffected by resonant frequency. She has also shown the ability for more finesse-based uses of accoustic pressure, including the much famed sonic lance (a direct bolt-like sound attack which functions in an effective range of about 200 feet), the sonic shield (which can repel physical attacks and attacks using solid matter of most sorts, as well as fire - which can be extinguished by sound - and concussive force, though other energy attacks remain effective), and the ability to fly (at up to Mach 1 in atmosphere).
[Weaknesses/Limitations] - Sound requires an atmosphere to function. For that matter, so do humans...

[Skills] - Shuho was a double major in physics and engineering, with a focus on quantum mechanics and wave physics. She is a brilliant inventor and remarkably good at reverse engineering other people's inventions, too. Though there are mutants more intelligent than her, Shuho is one of the most intelligent people in the world not aided by a brain mutation. Like most people who manipulate sound, Shuho is a fantastic vocalist. Her natural range is coloratura lyric soprano, but thanks to her mutation she can hit any note in the human register and then some. Shuho knows how to get down and dirty and kick ass when it comes to a fight (with or without powers). She is an excellent shot with most any handgun, has a thorough background in kenjutsu and rapier, and is a veritable master of ninjutsu, ninpo, kenpo, aikijutsu, and taijutsu. She blends them all quite liberally.

[Possessions] - Shuho is the daughter of a wealthy Japanese businessman/politician, and has never wanted for much of anything. Her immediate funds amount to some fifteen million dollars. Therefor, as far as mundane objects go, this is very little she can't get ahold of. She constantly keeps a pair of M9 Berretta semi-automatic pistols on her person, she keeps four more at home as well as a pair of U22 Berrettas and a Berretta Rx4 rifle. What? She likes Berrettas. She also keeps an isezumi katana made of Antarctic vibranium, the single most expensive item she owns, with a price tag in the $1.3 million range. Of things she invented personally, there are two successful experiments she carries with her. The first is a photonic communication system. Though it doesn't operate any faster than radio communication (radio waves travel at the speed of light), encoding information on photons creates a system much more difficult to decrypt and intercept and with a much longer effective range. She has provided some six other people with such devices. The second is a PSC - Psionic Signal Controller. Worn on the wrist, it is a device that sorts and negates psionic wavelengths in her immediate (2-3 feet from her) area. It can be used to negate all psionics or telepathic wavelengths in particular, and powerful telepaths have shown the ability to (with effort) overwhelm the system, which is still imperfect.

Shuho, despite her wealth, has remarkably little in the way of permanent property. She keeps a small apartment in Brooklyn, and for her experimentation, she rents a laboratory in downtown Manhattan. Her current work is on a design for a bolt-action particle rifle powered by hydrogen atoms. Due to all the terrifying physical problems with the idea, it is painfully slow work, but Shuho remains optimistic.

[History] - Shuho was born in Nagoya, Japan, and raised in a wealthy and elite household. She had access to the finest in education and commodities and never wanted for anything in her early life. When her powers began manifesting at the age of thirteen, her parents used their notable power and influence to shelter her from government fallout, and continued educating her at the finest facilities. They also found a mutant tutor, a telepath named Kosuke Sakama, to help instruct her in the mastery of her powers. This tutelage continued through high school, juku, and eventually college - when at fifteen she was accepted to Waseda University in Tokyo. Kosuke moved from Nagoya with her, stating that he owed it to her to teach her everything he could. Shuho spent the next four years balancing a double major in physics and engineering with the increasingly demanding training Kosuke was putting her through. As testament to her genius, Shuho was nineteen when she finished her double major in the top percentile of her class. She moved to New York City later in the year, believing she would find better opportunities to flex her political and intellectual muscle in the less rigid society of the United States.

In the United States, Shuho encountered something remarkable she had never encountered before - bigotry aimed at her as a mutant. In Japan, her social status kept the point relegated to muted whispers. In America, noone seemed to care that she was wealthy or that her parents were wealthier. Furthermore, Shuho saw firsthand the plight of American mutants (something she had been rather blind to in Tokyo), and it infuriated her. After four years spent subtley establishing herself in the fabric of New York City, researching and preparing, she took up her current line of work: political terrorism aimed at anyone she deems as problematic for mutant equality. Or as it may end up, mutant domination. Shuho has some emotional problems, her largely idealistic motives could very easily be derailed by the right influences...

Is there ANYTHING she can't do? Talk about stacking a character to high heaven! Now with so much, I have to list the things I like and don't like, don't I?

Like:
The power, its actually intersting, seldomly seen, and a nice interpertation of what we've seen several times in the comics.
The History is a good one, always nice to see the snob played with an idea of who she actually is, am I right, or am I right?
The overall character I think is awesome, and look forward to interacting with.

Iffy:
Things like the Antartic Vibranium Katana, and the psionic nullifier seem to be there for the sole purpose of 'just incase someone else makes a character that can...' which makes me a little...Well dissapointed as a whole. I wouldn't care really if such a thing came up IN RP and she was forced to obtain these items.

Thats my view. Still love the character!

Antarctic vibranium ('anti-metal') adds nothing she can't do more efficiently with her voice. The PSC is a nature of her 'work'. You don't be a terrorist in a country run by psychotic telepaths (...Sinister...) without at least some sort of protection. It's also not all that different from fairly well-established canonical technology. Shuho just refuses to wear things over her ears.

Anything she can't do? Manage her social life on more than a superficial level. Understand the political situation around her (and why terrorism doesn't solve it). She's got a lot of ability, but really, it's no more stacked than (as an example) Henry McCoy, Leyu Yashida, or Erik Lensherr.

Was under the impression Essex was Vice President. Whether people know what he's doing or not, he's hardly low-profile. o.o;; That aside, nature of her work still makes something like that a very good idea. The day SHIELD and STRIKE stop having telepaths, it may be unnecessary.
