Bayern München want Mario Mandžukić

Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandžukić has confirmed he is in talks over a move to Bayern Munich.

Mandžukić, 26, has been linked with several elite sides after scoring three times for Croatia at Euro 2012, and Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath recently confirmed there was widespread interest.

"At this point in time it is a fact that there are some clubs interested in signing Mario Mandžukić," Magath told Deutsche Presseagentur. "Right now it is an open race. I am not preventing players from moving on. If there is definite interest, I have no problem with that, but I do not want to get rid of him."

Reports have since emerged suggesting Bayern were closing in on a deal and the striker has now confirmed the rumours.

"The truth is that I am negotiating with Bayern," he was quoted as telling Bild. "It's a great club and of course I'd like to play there - who wouldn't? For the time being I'm holiday, so it's down to my representative to sort things out."

Mandžukić, who signed for Wolfsburg from Dinamo Zagreb in 2010, is under contract until 2014 and is expected to cost around €10 million.

Haha, I don't really dislike the club. I dislike the people that are leading it. Oli Hoenes, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge etc.

It would be great if he went there cause he could actually win something with them. As they showed us, even the Champions League. (Well, not this year but yeah :P )

Yeah the main thing is that they have the tools to actually win big in tournaments which like you said will be good for him

Welcome to the forum dude.

He looked good at the Euros, but I highly doubt he'd get anywhere near Bayern's first team. It could end up being a terrible career move for him.

Better than being treated like shit/on the bench at Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg have been paying too much attention on Helmes so he showed them who's boss at the Euros B)

Yeah, if he can't even get into Wolfsburg's first team then I can't see why Bayern would be interested.

Because he wants to leave, probably impressed them at the Euros, may be a replacement for Olić there and is very cheap actually.

Bendtner had a good Euros and he's not even on the bench for us. It could be possible that Mario was just in form for the Euros, but will he be able to perform like that for 35+ games?

Well, he scored 12 goals last season in Wolfsburg just like Helmes despite Helmes being the 'favorite' there.
