..do you actually find yourself feeling happy?

I'm not being all naru emo right now, but like - do you find yourself complaining about things rather than praising?

I know happiness is definied differently by each individual, but does it take a lot to make you happy.

I'm currently neither happy nor sad and I find myself in this indifferent state, quite ofren.

I generally agree with Cal's percentages as well.

Although I'm a bit low at the moment, mostly because I miss uni/London, and being at home is boring. I'm a bit lonely at the moment since most of my friends are in the city now.

Has it ended with your gf after the birthday fiasco?

I'm kind of lonely even though I'm surrounded by people.

Yeah, the argument snowballed quickly after I made the post about that. We don't even talk anymore, even though we still hang out with the same people at uni. Been single since.

I was talking to Sandy about this recently actually, and like I said to her, I'm not really the type of guy to date a girl unless I take it seriously you know? I'll only commit if I can see it going somewhere, which makes it harder to get over it when things don't turn out like I plan...

I wish I could be more laid back about finding girls to have fun with... but at least I'm not scared of girls like Tim... or ugly... lol...

Lol.. I know what you mean.

My problem is not giving people a chance. I also need to be more laid back.

I find it difficult to quantify mood levels. First, like you've said, happiness is subjective. Second, there needs to be some sort of scale or given period. How happy am I in a typical week? Month? Year?

Third, I see moods as a roller coaster instead of just numbers. There will be peaks and troughs, but I think this "indifferent" state needs to be split into the state before reaching peak happiness and before hitting rock bottom. It's not just up-down-up-down (unless you're bipolar), sometimes you'll have long bouts of growing happiness before suddenly falling downhill.

That said, I don't really keep track of how happy or depressed I am because for the most part, I don't really give a shit (hence the lack of emo topics from moi recently). You'll have bouts of happiness, you'll be depressed, and the best part is that you'll never be eternally stuck to either of them.

What I do somewhat give a shit about is when my mood will change. I mean, I personally don't care about my moods, but it will hinder you at school or in the workplace. Some days, you're willing to do favors for everyone while other times you just want them to fuck off. Your productivity lacks consistency because you're a moody bitch, and I think stabilizing it is the key to becoming successful.

By the way, you don't even have to think that you're happy when you truly are happy, because when you ARE happy, you're too busy enjoying yourself not to worry about being sad. I don't tell myself that I'm happy when I'm happy, but in the occasion that I do, I tell myself "if this isn't nice, then I don't know what is". It's corny as fuck (actually a Vonnegut quote), but it works for me

I know you're kidding, but I actually have an easier time talking to cute girls than anyone else to be honest. It lets me be pretty dorky and I'm more comfortable like that than trying the typical generic-o pickup routine.

But hey, at least you weren't friendzoned twice this year :<
