1994: Weirdest year in American sports?

I've just watched 2 ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries on events that took place in sports in 1994, and I guess I never realized how many unprecedented events happened that same year in American sports.

In January & February, the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan attack and resulting Olympic drama played out.

In June, the OJ Simpson murder case, including the infamous White Bronco chase, happened.

In August, the MLB players went on strike, resulting in the first season without a World Series since 1904.

Any of these event alone would have been profoundly historic. The only thing harder to believe than the fact that they all happened within the same 12 months is that it's been 20 years.
