I fail to see where Halo stated his position on gay marriage and abortion other than him saying separation of church and state is what he believes in (which is how it should be). |

hm... last time i checked, marriage was a state issue, and not under federal jurisdiction. The separation of church and state is one of the ideals our nation was founded on. i dont think anyone here thinks that religion should take a key role in the government. be careful, people. this political discussion is great, but if it turns into a flame war, we're all kinda screwed... so maybe ease off the personal insults? ralph nader doesnt stand a chance, but if, for some reason he wins, i'd laugh, and laugh, and laugh, and laugh. |

I'm sorry but you are correct matt. i was quoting the quote halorambo put up. He did indeed mention gay marriage and abortion. I was talking about how we apparently rely on the bible to choose who people can marry. |

Okay everyone. seriously its okay to disagree but we don't need to put eachother down for it. sure im pro-choice for my own reasons. it doesn't mean you all should get angry and call me a dumbass. Take it easy guys. You have to accept that not everyone shares your views and you have to learn to let it go if someone attacks you. Celtic seriously? its just his view dude you dont have to call him a dumbass for it. And so what. celtic accidentaly misread halo's post and thought those were halo's views. its an honest mistake. Sorry I didn't put a third party option on the poll. just wasn't thinking about it at the time. Okay i'll take it quote by quote Halo- -I agree that Bush is not the only one to blame. Tons of poeple on wall street and in the government messed up big time. -I believe that they are saying it McCain will be a third bush because he agrees with bush 90% of the time (not my stat, just going of news, which of course is probably wrong). So basically its like putting another bush into office. -I agree that niether canidate is best, but i believe that Obama is the much better then McCain. Everyone has their own flaws. -I guess I'm alittle confused on your stance Halo. You say your pro-choice, while McCain-Palin are for making abortion illegal. Devil- -Not many off us here can vote. I just wanted to know peoples views. Over- -I agree with you on the age thing. I don't believe that his age makes him crazy or that it makes him a worse choice for president. What I am worried about is if he dies in office, we have a governor from Alaska as the president of our country. Palin has yet to prove herself better then a "hockey-mom" to me. Also, McCain's health record has never been released, but we know he has had skin cancer four times! Obamas hasn't been either, just saying. Matt- -I disagree with your statment about how gay marriage and abortion doesn't matter as much as other things. I know its your opinion and im just saying i disagree. -Please stop calling people dumb just cus they are stating there opinion. -I agree with you on the fact that congress probably would never aprove providing guns to everyone, but i think that the fact that Palin is for everyone owning guns is just scary. APA and Mandy- -Agree with both of you. Well put. haha! Indow- -What kind of cookies? Lets just have a good discussion. Remember its okay to disagree! |

Well if everyone is so adamant on calling Senator McCain "another Bush", Senator Obama also voted with the president. Does that make him another Bush? No it doesn't. 84% =/= 100%. And most of the agreements are minor things. And confused by my stance? Yes I'm pro-choice... Barely. I believe the government should have no so in what a woman does with her body, although I detest "casual abortions" (i.e. women who sleep around then abort as soon as they can). As was adopted, I'm sure you could understand my reasons. President Bush was never able to ban abortions. McCain won't be able to either. Washington wouldn't hear it. |

I'm beginning to have a view on the politics that is the truth. It has become a war of wits and insults. In fact people are saying you are racist if you don't vote for Obama and you are sexist if you don't vote for McCain since his vice is a girl. Polotics have gotten out of hand and we only see the views of the news and the people that have a voice in our descision. People are basing their descision on stuff that may not be true since the media if feeding them falsly. Avsfreak thank you for clearing all of the information into one long post. I believe I also want to know what kind of cookies Indow is bribing us with. haha. I apologize to anyone I may have insulted. I want to bring up a subject that I haven't heard the canidates speak of. It is something called the USA PATRIOT act. It pretty much means that the government can wiretap anything without our consent and without us knowing. For all we know the government is monotoring this sight. Wiretapping also means that they listen in on our phone calls. I believe that is just creepy. Quite frankly I believe it has the right ideas but they went too far and didn't give the government limitations. It strictly contradicts witht the 4th amendment and our ancestors fought so hard to get(I live in America). What do you think of the Patriot Act? Support your answer. God I sounded like a teacher. |

Yeah a lot of people are basing decisions off of the news channel they watch, that can't be helped. Second, you don't sound like a teacher at all. Teacher's don't spell politics and decision wrong. The Patriot Act enables law enforcement agencies to do what they feel is right to combat terrorism. Please tell me how that is bad. Also, the 4th Amendment can be broken with extenuating circumstances, and I think combating terrorism is probably the way to go. |

Alright well not that I really give a rats ass about politics (It's all full of a bunch of liars anyways). But I think the fact why people call McCain the "second Bush" is not because he is like Bush. But because the people behind Bush who caused a lot of the damage will still be there for McCain. Also Palin is a total fucking ditz and should seriously not be in position for any sort of white house administration. Getting a D+ when you're expected an F doesn't mean you did well in the debates. Politics blows anywho. I LOVE TERRORISTS AND ABORTION. DAVE MUSTAINE FOR PRESIDENT. Posted Image Edited by Drew S., Oct 22 2008, 02:10 PM.

IM just saying that they should have atleast a tiny reason to wiretap someone. Its not like you or me are going to attempt to kill the president. It is just a little bit creepy. They should be searching for Al Quada. I'm not really against it. I want a cookie. |

Halo- -Its not wether or not McCain will be able to ban abortions. It's the fact that McCain thinks government should be able to control abortions. and thats what makes me not like him. No matter if its probable that he will get it banned or not. Matt- -I think that my conversations with people should be private. No matter if they wiretap to combat terrorism or not. The government should not be allowed to do that. What would be next? Black boxes in our cars? Cameras in our house? I know what some of you will say to that. "The government would never do that!" Drew- -I agree with everything except the I LOVE Terrorists part. lol I agree that the media has definitley made matters worse for the election. Certain channels tend to be more liberal and others more conservative. The best way to get facts about each canidate is to read their views on different issues. You can do this by visiting there campaign sites below. Barack Obama's Policy Issues John McCain Issues |
