Right, for some stupid reason I have stayed up and watched Money in the Bank. I havn'y watched a WWE PPV since WrestleMania, before that, well it was probably about 10 years ago watching one from start to finish live. Few things annoyed me, Booker T's use of "Oh Baby" my god man he could get a job in a porno. Every two seconds it is as if it is the only thing he knows how to say! The next thing that annoys me is how WWE are too scared to put Cena on anywhere but last! Seriously, the WWE title match should be the main match, should be the last match on the card unless it is extreme circumstance. What also got to me is how after the Punk/Bryan match the wasted half hour was filled with Ryback destroying Rex and Hawkins, an then a Divas match, honestly those are the kind of things you want to be putting on at the start of the card on on this pre-show thing. If WWE weren't so fucken lazy they could have easily stared a small feud between someone to get a decent meaningful match in there. In the last few weeks on Impact, and at Destination X, I don't remember there being a meaningless match, however on RAW it has been a collection of meaninless matches, and MITB there were three! WWE need to get a grip. They seem to concered with what is trending world wide and pointing out that they are a Sports entertainment company, or telling stories about "Sports Entertainers" instead of calling the action. There are reason people like me gave up on WWE all them years ago. Yes I was ruined by the Attitude era, yes I was brought up when wrestling was at it's peak, During the money night wars, during ECW, during WRESTLING! Back in the day when you wouldn't get a meaninless match at a PPV, when WrestleMania was worth watching start to finish, when RAW was worth wstaying up til 4am to watch. WWE have got lazy because they know there is nothing pushing them to get better, there is nothing forcing them to improve, and why? Well how about the fact as soon as you think wrestling you think WWF. How about the fact that no one has the budget to compete with WWE. No one has the production value. There is plenty of talent out there who are much better than the body builders and models that are on the WWE Roster. WWE have to step up their game, they seem to be coasting along to the 1000th show, they are building it up and building it up, but you know what will make that show? the old guys. the guys from the Attitude era, the guys from when Wrestling wasn't sports entertainment an it is all because that is what they are building it up to be! Why focus on the past so heavily? yes have some nostalgia it is the 1000th show, but to rely so heavily is a joke, they have NO ONE capable of filling the void left by the likes of the Rock and Stone Cold, Triple H and the Undertaker, HBK and Kurt Angle. They have guys waiting in the wings that could be big, that could get over, but they hold them back. I personally am sick of it. I think I will go back to a WWE black out Fuck WWE! Fuck Sports Entertainment, give me Wrestling anyday! (hopefully this will be my last rant for today) |

Boy you're all about the rants today. I think i'll make one of my own. *ahem* It seems like every time a WWE PPV ends, somebody on a wrestling forum always has a long rant about how WWE sucks and they're never going to watch it again and they're too focused on "entertainment" instead of wrestling holds. WWE is a business, and like any other business they have their peaks and valleys. These peaks and valleys can last many years, and at the moment WWE is in a valley. They were in a valley back in the 90s when there were horrible gimmicks and it was up to guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels to put butts in seats. Kinda like how it's up to John Cena and CM Punk now. But there were golden ages too. In the mid to late eighties WWE was a big deal and they had record setting numbers for that time. And the people of that period are timeless. How many remember Hogan, Savage, Andre The Giant, Undertaker, Jake Roberts, Ultimate Warrior, Honky Tonk Man, and so on. And of course the Attitude Era was a wonderful period that reinvented the business and rose to new heights. Right now, WWE is like it was in the 90s. Not as bad financially, but they're experimenting with new things. Instead of crazy gimmicks, they're dipping their hands in social media. The casual "I only watch one show every other year" fans and the hardcore "chain wrestling for five hours" fans aren't going to like what they see right now, and that's okay because with every valley there's a peak. And I fully believe that WWE will have another "Era" where it suddenly becomes super popular again and whoever is on the roster at that time will always be remembered. I don't know when that will be, but it'll happen. You just have to be patient. And no, i'm not saying that WWE is doing everything right. They try some things and see how it develops over the long haul. Sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes it does. TNA is the same way. For awhile nothing was working for them. But now they're starting to come up with better storylines (drug lady angle not so much) and new, fresh wrestlers are being highlighted. WWE is doing the same with Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Tyson Kidd, and heck they even have an entire show called NXT that's all about highlighting the next generation. While WWE does some unpopular things, they're also doing some good when it comes to preparing for the future. Triple H's focus on getting more indy wrestlers into development is a smart move and I hope Raw's extended hour allows for more time to be spent showing off these new guys. You want to black out WWE? That's fine. Nobody's got a gun to your head and forcing you to watch. But a few years from now when you see guys like Richie Steamboat or Seth Rollins main eventing shows, you won't have the satisfaction of having seen them grow into the fame. And that's what I think professional wrestling is about. It's not just watching the moves, it's also watching the characters grow up before your very eyes. Take the good with the bad and don't be so pessimistic about the program. Edited by SwitchBlade, Jul 15 2012, 10:18 PM.

You don't really have to these days. Show are always going to be put online a day or two after the show. Watch as much or as little of it as you want at your own leisure. |

I agree Wallace, I am just waiting until the 1000th show of Raw and seeing what they'll do with Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose. But I am seriously giving up on WWE. I am more interested in TNA Impact and ROH/Indy's now more than ever. TNA seem to be doing everything right at the moment, and ROH have always produced solid shows. Evolve/Dragon Gate USA and & Chikara & PWG also are more interesting than WWE. |
