Hi there, I've seen in my crystal ball that the first answer will come this week ^^. For those who haven't yet read them (shame on you ), you can have a look at those two topics:2009/2010: http://vulcanus2009.freeforums.org/final-answer-t21.html 2008/2009: http://vulcanus.informe.com/pre-selecteds-appeal-host-companies-answers-dt546.html Oh, by the way, the Golden week is starting on the 29th of April, this will probably delay some answers by one week. Huuum, I think that this year, the first answers are going to arrive really late ( like mid-may) due to the second round for the shortlisting ! Anyway, maybe I just say that in order to not stress too much when opening my mails... |

Well... I guess this week may bring some answers (actually, 7 days ago I thought the same )On the 19th of March 13 guys were newly shortlisted. There are 45 different offers and one application is send at a time. So, provided that all of them applied for different placement, this leaves us with 32 positions. Now, if we assume files from the first round were delivered there in a meantime, maybe not all of us will need to wait until mid-May. |

Golden week will last until 5th of May and with last of april being on Friday, in between 29th and the weekend, it is probably a good guess noone will do any effective work on Friday. (For reference: The holidays are April 29th and 3rd-5th of May, so in 2010 the Japanese get an exceptionally long free period by just taking one day off) Some HR-people might even go crazy and take the Thursday and Friday next week off as well, and then the answers will take even longer... Ergo, it is most likely safe to say that no answers will arrive (at least to the centre) between Thursday this week and a week ahead. So, unless an answer is delivered to the centre by tomorrow, we can just sit back and relax for a few days

I guess your right, but we never know: bureaucracy can sometimes add a delay of 2-3 days. Maybe the fate of some of us has already been decided by the HR departments of the Japanese companies, but the official answer from the Centre won't arrive until Thursday/Friday... |

Hi everyone! Yesterday I received an email from the center. My company would have a phone interview with me (and with another candidate) after the Golden Week. Uuuuh I can't wait!!! I'm a bit worried... Here we are, final round! Good luck to you all! |

Andrea, It'd be helpful if you could say whether the number of this placement is divisible by 5?

I'm not sure to understand this thing of the placement divisible by 5... You want to be sure it's not "your" placement? Anyway, the number of "my" stage is not divisible by 5. Is it bad? |

Thanks and good luck. I just did not want to ask you explicitly what is the number of the placement you will have a phone interview with. Frankly, I applied for the offer #5 and by this indirect way I can know now I am still not out of the game

This is good... Then some of the HR departments have been able to reply by now. No extreme delays then. The fact that my email box is as empty as the next ones keeps me on edge (I just turned my spam filter to a more generous level, since some of the centre's mails have from time to time ended up there), but we are still only little more than half way through today here and in Japan its by now 9.15 in the evening. There might still come an answer or interview request from the centre today ![]() The only things I actually feel being a little bit awkward is the centre's generally low concentration of confirmations of received material sent to the applicants (even though it is understandable considering the large number of applicants) and the fact that some addresses of centre people have tended to end up in the trash bin (but that should have been taken care of by now...). The one thing I have been worried about concerning confirmations is that the centre asked me for a new, non-standard certificate of enrollment, which I sent them by standard mail, plus an email affirming that I had sent it, but they never let me know that it had arrived (actually, I haven't heard from them since)... So thats the only uncertainty I can see in my application. Are there anyone else in similar situations? |

Exactly same dilemma but I reckon (optimistically) that they would have contacted us, had they not received it. |

Would it not be easier, if you could just say us the number of your placement ? I mean, I really don't see where is the problem by just revealing the number ![]() Anyway, if you don't want, maybee you can answer to that question : Is it divisible by 3.8 ? ![]() Good luck to all, I think we will not get any answers before at least one week after the golden week... |
