I think a lot of us are refreshing the forum (me for sure) to hear the first signs of an answer. The butterflies are flocking to my stomach. I'm hoping the end, regardless of what it is, is soon. Best of luck to all.

Congratulations Freitas!

I believe that if they are still accepting applications, maybe they haven´t sent our files to the companies yet.
What do you guys think?

Regards

No don't worry, I think our files have already been in Japan for a few days ^^

According to Trinidad Iglesias (a member of staff from the centre): 'The first student accepted is normally around mid-April'.
(This is what she said on the Vulcanus Facebook page).

well.. i think it will take a little longer..
because this week the centre published a new shorted list for the people who had postal problems and they delayed the deadline of the motivation letter to the company to april 19th.. so i think it will take a little longer

Not necessarily actually.

I (and 3 other applicants) recieved an e-mail from the center last week.
The company we applied to has requested extra-information to conduct the matching process.

I guess the files have been sent to the companies at the beginning of last week.

What is possible is that they have only delayed some files (for example for the internships suggested to the new short-listed people) and that the rest of them are already in Japan.

This is getting most interesting...

There must have been quite a lot of extra job for the centre this year. I am impressed that they went through all the extra trouble for the unlucky people having problems with the mail service. They have definitely earned my respect at least (and I was in the first list).

The matching proces may become a lengthy process for some of the positions this time...
But just as you said, as you had to provide additional info for your placement as per a request from the company we can deduce that at least a few (possibly most) of the files have been sent or are about to go in the mail. As they usually send the files late March that would be a reasonable guess, don't you think?

There are a few deadlines for the companies and the centre to consider though... The application processes for certificates of eligibility that are needed for the participants to be able to apply for a visa will need to take its due course and needs to be started in a not too distant future, so I suppose the plan will not be altered very much by the extra shortlisting and late applications.

What would be interesting is to know what profiles the newly shortlisted have. Are they engineers, science masters, architects/designers? And what countries everyone (not only the new ones) are from.
Well, all in good time.
