Hello Everyone, Since the end of March is approaching, the centre has probably already sent our motivation letters to the host companies (or will very soon). I was wondering is the centre had contacted some of you to tell you which letter they have sent (for people who have written two motivation letters). As far as I'm concerned, the centre hasn't contacted me yet... Cheers, Manu |

The centre hasn't contacted me either. I sent two motivation letters, stating which one I prefer to be my first choice. Maybe the delay due to the postals office problem, put things a week or so behind schedule, or simply the centre sent my first motivation letter! We'll see... |

I sent two letters too, but didn't mention which one was my first choice... Anyway, if they suggested a matching for us, probably they'll consider it as first choice. I think they decided the "suggested" match in a random way: I'm in chemical engineering but they suggested for me a company which does not look for chemical engineers... Great!!! Did this happen to other people or it was just me? Anyway, I didn't get any news from the centre yet. I just wrote to my university to know if they have some new info. Let us wait...

Same here! I'm in telecommunications, but they suggested a rather general company for me... despite the fact that I've seen some nice telecom/signal processing placements in the excel file :/ |

Well, that was interesting to hear. That it wasn't just me who got strange matchings. I was suggested a very obvious mechanical engineering or marketing position. Not very well suited my profile of computer science and laser physics (yes, I know its a strange combo, but it turned out that way )I applied (after the centre confirming it to be ok) for two other posititon that are better suited for me. |

For me they have suggested one internship I had suggested in the application form actually. They have called me two weeks ago asking me which letter I wanted to send because the second one (so the one not suggested) would have helped them balancing the applications. Hasty conclusion: no call means they sent the suggested internship. @ GND: Yeah Strange combo indeed, but i see what seems to be two perfect hits with probably low competition for you in the internship list (it's not so common, much like last year nuclear engineering for instance i guess) so it could pay. (if you actually applied to them)Still between 15 and 60 days to wait. :F I had decided not to expect too much of my application this year but it turns out that as weeks go on I am becoming quite nervous. |

... of being a Schrödinger's cat, figuratively speaking. Anyway, I found two desirable placements for me in the Excel file. Because of the fact that one of them seems much more suitable, I decided to declare myself all in and send just one motivation letter. Hopefully, the answer (preferably positive) will come soon ![]() Have a Happy Easter, Dawid |
