Out of HQ ____________________________________________ ____________________________________________ Chapter I. Basic Procedures Part of your job as an NCO is to make sure the enlisted know exactly what they are doing and when they should be doing it. In order to make sure the enlisted are doing things correctly, you need to make yourself fully aware of all the basic procedures. This leads us to Section A. Section A. Understanding Fill the Front (FTF): FTF is quite possibly the most important procedure, as it is the only way to obtain more members. If there is even one position available in the front row and people are communicating in the back, you should ask them to FTF. The only reason they shouldn't FTF is if they are AFK (Away from Keyboard) or are having an important conversation directly involving the Airborne. Attention: Attention is a very important procedure as well. Attention gives officers a method of effectively communicating to the entire room at any time. It also shows respect to officers. When an officer enters the room, you should call "ATTENTION!" and stop all movements and speech until the officers says, "Carry on", "As you were". "As you were" and "Carry on": These commands simply mean that you are no longer at attention and you may return to your position before the attention was called. "At Ease" is the command that you must stay standing at attention, but you may stalk in "Say" you still must not move, or click. Front and Center (F&C): The F&C command is given by an officer while the room is at attention. This command is used for disciplinary actions and promotions. Too often NCOs’ do not know how to properly F&C. The correct format for F&C is as follows; The officer calls the room to attention. The officer calls the person to F&C. The person reporting walks to 1 space in front of the officer and says, "Sir/Ma'am!" The officer speaks. After the officer is finished speaking, they will say "Dismissed" and and the person says “Sir/Ma’am!” and returns to their spot at attention. MOD: A MOD is someone who keeps the room in check and makes sure that the room is doing exactly what it's supposed to and when it's supposed to. This person is considered a part of the front row. When you are told to MOD, you take responsibility for the actions of those on the front row. Section B. Executing FTF: FTF should be executed anytime there is an open space in the front row. Later in the manual you will see the priority positions to fill while in HQ. FTF is the first and most important priority. Attention: Attention should be executed when the highest outranking officer enters through door or the teleporter. It is also executed if someone in the front row appears to be AFK. Attention is also called to make sure that if someone is in the back and at the computer, they can FTF when a position is open. Any time an officer calls attention, it needs to be executed immediately. Section C. Teaching For the most part, basic commands are taught during training, however they are occasionally forgotten depending on the trainer. If you see someone execute a command OTHER THAN attention incorrectly, tell them how to do it right. If an officer calls attention and you try to correct someone who is doing it wrong, you are likely to be kicked from the room. Leave that to the officer who called the attention. When teaching to correctly do a command, don't be rude about it and give the enlisted an attitude for doing it wrong. This will get you into trouble with officers as well as lower the morale of the enlisted you are correcting. You should politely tell them what they did wrong and how to fix it next time. If necessary, do drills with them to get it right. ____________________________________________ Chapter II. Ranks and Commands Section A. Following Orders Following orders is something that should be done immediately unless the order is against the Habbo way. If the order comes from an officer, it should be done immediately. However, occasionally, a higher ranking NCO will give you an order. While you do not necessarily have to follow this order, it is respectful to do so, and the NCO is probably doing what is best for the situation. The ONLY NCO who can call an attention without permission from an officer is the Head NCO, so if another NCO tries to call you to attention and discipline you, it is not in their authority. Section B. Disobeying Orders Disobeying a direct order from an officer has a variety of outcomes. You will certainly be punished unless over-ruled by the Operations Command. If an order is against the Habbo way, you should NOT follow the order and instruct the officer that it is against the Habbo way. Disobeying an NCO of high ranking might get you some punishment too depending on the situation. It's always best to follow an order respectfully no matter who gives it. Section C. Punishment Punishments for disobeying orders will vary. If you blatantly disobey an order from a member of Operations Command you are probably going to be dishonorably discharged. If it is from an officer you are most likely going to be kicked and warned. If you repeatedly disobey you are likely to be discharged. ____________________________________________ Chapter III. Priorities In and Out of HQ Section A. In HQ While in HQ there are certain priorities that need to be filled before others. The order of priorities in HQ are as follows: 1. FTF and recruit new personnel 2. Gate Guard (GG) 3. MOD 1, MOD 2 4. Back row. 5. VIP. NCO are not the only ones bound by this list of priorities. All officers should follow this list as well. If an officer isn't following this list, politely ask them to fill the priority position. If they don't, it's probably for a good reason. Section B. Out of HQ When you aren't in HQ, we obviously can't make you follow the rules. However, if the HQ is low on population it is a priority to fill it. There isn't a punishment for not filling it, but it makes officers look at you as someone who isn't dedicated to the Airborne which in the end keeps you from that next promotion. So always fill the HQ when possible to be a known worker. ____________________________________________ Chapter IV. Conduct Section A. Sexual Comments A lot of sexual comments are made in HQ and it's all in good fun, but it makes us look terrible. People come in and see sexual comments and think we are a military of perverts. Sexual comments are best left to whispers and console. If you make a comment that could be possibly make people not want to enlist, you put yourself at risk for punishment. Section B. Arguing Subsection 1. In HQ If there is an argument going on and someone asks you to drop it, you are to do so immediately. When members of our Airborne are fighting one another it makes us look like we aren't united. If you continue the argument after you have been asked to stop, you WILL be punished. Subsection 2. On The Forums If someone makes a suggestion on the forums and it isn't where it is supposed to be, just inform them on where it should have been placed instead of immediately bashing their post with criticism. Fighting over personal issues on the forum should not be made public. If you have a problem with something someone says, send them a Personal Message and leave it out of the eyes of the public. Again people see that we are arguing and wonder how united we really are. And after all, we are a Military of One! Section C. Swearing Swearing should be kept to a minimum. There are a lot of younger players who are on Habbo. Parents are often watching them. If a parent sees swearing, they aren't going to let their child play Habbo anymore. Swearing also makes us look very unprofessional and immature. Section D. Civilians Civilians are to be treated with the utmost respect. They are possible recruits and they keep us populated. Without the civilians, we would not be where we are today. Any attitude towards civilians is likely to get you a punishment from an officer who sees it. Civilians can report you to an officer for improper behavior so keep that in mind when handling them. And while a lot of civilians aren't the brightest people, you need to refrain from calling them "noob" and other names. Section E. Out of HQ Regardless of where you are at, you need to follow the code of conduct because, not only do you show yourself in your actions, but you represent the entire USM. You need to act like you are a mature member of the USM at all times. -CnC: Chanuk123 |
