Tottenham 2 – 1 Liverpool Carragher o.g. 70 Kuyt 3 Pavlyuchenko 90+1 Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, King, Woodgate, Assou-Ekotto (Hutton 46), Bentley, Zokora, Huddlestone, O'Hara (Pavlyuchenko 46), Modric (Lennon 75), Bent. Subs Not Used: Cesar, Bale, Gunter, Campbell. Booked: King. Goals: Carragher 70 og, Pavlyuchenko 90. Liverpool: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Dossena, Kuyt, Mascherano, Alonso, Riera (Benayoun 78), Gerrard, Keane (Babel 66). Subs Not Used: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Aurelio, Leiva Lucas, El Zhar. Booked: Gerrard, Carragher. Goals: Kuyt 3. Att: 36,183 Ref: Phil Dowd (Staffordshire). Liverpool started the game with constant pressure, and it paid off when Robbie Keane turned Assou-Ekotto, giving the ball to Dirk Kuyt, five yards right of the corner of the six yard box, who drilled it into the top far corner from an impossible angle. After that, Liverpool had chance after chance, hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions. Jamie Carragher headed into his own net after pressure from Ledley King whilst defending a Bently corner in Spurs’ first attack of the second half, 70 minutes in. In the dying minutes, David Bently had an early cross-shot, which Reina pushed into the path of Darren Bent, who dragged it back for Pavlyuchenko to flick it into the bottom corner. Man of The Match: Dirk Kuyt – scored a great goal today, and worked hard throughout. Stoke 2 - 1 Arsenal Fuller 11 Clichy 90+4 Olofinjana 73 Stoke: Sorensen, Griffin, Abdoulaye Faye, Shawcross, Higginbotham, Amdy Faye, Olofinjana, Diao (Whelan 78), Delap, Fuller (Cresswell 86), Sidibe (Kitson 90). Subs Not Used: Simonsen, Soares, Wilkinson, Sonko. Booked: Higginbotham, Sidibe, Delap, Cresswell. Goals: Fuller 11, Olofinjana 73. Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna (Walcott 57), Toure, Silvestre, Clichy, Denilson (Van Persie 65), Fabregas, Song Billong, Diaby, Adebayor (Vela 72), Bendtner. Subs Not Used: Fabianski, Nasri, Ramsey, Djourou. Sent Off: Van Persie (76). Booked: Adebayor, Fabregas. Goals: Clichy 90. Att: 26,704 Ref: Rob Styles (Hampshire). Arsenal were always going to struggle in the air against a strong and tall Stoke side. Stoke got the opener, predictably from a Rory Delap long throw, met by the head of Ricardo Fuller. Ryan Shawcross met Adebayor with a strong challenge as the ball was going out, eventually forcing Adebayor off. Stoke got their second, again from a Delap throw, when Olofinjana bundled the ball in. Van Persie was sent off for a stupid lunge on Sorensen, leaving the goalie on the floor in great pain. Theo Walcott was substituted due to a suspected dislocated shoulder after landing awkwardly from a Delap challenge. Gael Clichy got a consolation goal when Fabregas squared the resultant free-kick, the shot taking two deflections on the way in. Man of The Match: Rory Delap – his long throws lead to both of Stoke’s goals. Man Utd 4 - 3 Hull Ronaldo 3 Cousin 23 Carrick 29 Mendy 69 Ronaldo 44 Geovanni (pen) 82 Vidic 57 Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick (Giggs 72), Anderson (O'Shea 88), Nani (Tevez 64), Berbatov, Rooney. Subs Not Used: Foster, Park, Rafael Da Silva, Fletcher. Booked: Rooney, Tevez. Goals: Ronaldo 3, Carrick 29, Ronaldo 44, Vidic 57. Hull: Myhill, McShane, Turner, Zayatte, Dawson, Marney, Hughes (Mendy 59), Boateng (Folan 86), Geovanni, King (Halmosi 63), Cousin. Subs Not Used: Duke, Barmby, Garcia, Ricketts. Booked: Turner, Mendy. Goals: Cousin 23, Mendy 69, Geovanni 82 pen. Att: 75,398 Ref: Mike Dean (Wirral). United got the first goal when Ronaldo scored from 20 yards on the turn, going in off the post. Immediately after that, United were full of tricks, even at just one up. However, Daniel Cousin headed in past a helpless Van der Sar to level it. Carrick scored from 17 yards, in off the same post as Ronaldo’s goal, and Ronaldo headed in United’s third goal. Vidic tapped in to make it 4-1, but Hull were given a controversial goal when Mendy lobbed Van der Sar and Vidic cleared it, seemingly before it had crossed the line. Mendy was shoved over by Ferdinand for a penalty, which Geovanni placed in. Man of The Match: C. Ronaldo – full of tricks as usual today, and got two goals as an extra. Chelsea 5-0 Sunderland Alex 27 Anelka 30 Anelka 45+1 Lampard 51 Anelka 53 Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Ashley Cole (Bridge 36), Mikel, Joe Cole (Drogba 63), Deco, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka (Mineiro 75). Subs Not Used: Hilario, Ivanovic, Kalou, Belletti. Goals: Alex 27, Anelka 30, 45, Lampard 51, Anelka 53. Sunderland: Fulop, Chimbonda, Nosworthy, Ferdinand, McCartney, Malbranque (Henderson 46), Whitehead, Tainio, Richardson, Waghorn (Diouf 46), Jones (Cisse 58). Subs Not Used: Colgan, Bardsley, Reid, Meyler. Booked: Tainio. Att: 41,693 Ref: Martin Atkinson (W Yorkshire). Chelsea got their first goal when Alex tapped the ball into an open goal, Chelsea’s 1000th Premier League goal. Their second came when Anelka scored a duplicate of the first. It was 3-0 after Anelka got his second easy goal when Malouda gave him another open goal. Frank Lampard’s 100th Chelsea goal made it 4, and Chelsea wrapped it up with Anelka’s hat-trick. Overall, it was a very easy game for Chelsea. All of their goals were easy finishes. Edited by Jack123, Nov 2 2008, 11:34 AM.
