Right then, i'd best start a bit of a project thread.

As this is my daily driver atm it may be slow progress, and it's going to be a proper budget build as i've got more important things to spend my cash on (according to the wife!), but i'm going for the lightweight modestly tuned fast road and occasional rwyb event to begin with and see how we get on :fingers-crossed:

Spec as advertised;

ENGINE:
evo 8 crank
evo8 piston and rods
arp conrod bolts and mains
arp head bolts
balancer shafts removed
hks headgasket
port and polished head
560cc injectors
full 3"turbo back exhaust
tubular manifold with heat wrap
hks air filter
ostrich emulator (not yet properly mapped though.)

EXTERIOR:
std wheels
carbon surrounds on door pillars
its had a full respray about 18 months ago

INTERIOR:
hks boost controler
plx wideband with gauge

As she stands now;

Things That we Have Found Wrong With It So Far; (and actions taken in brackets)

-Brake pipes cable tied
(Fitted new clips)

-ABS sensors cable tied
(Salvaged what studs we could but still partially secured with cable ties)

-Front N/S tyre wrong way round, inner facing outwards.
(Refitted the correct way round)

-Front N/S lower arm bolt is wrong bolt and packed out with 8 washers
(Safe enough for now)

-Oil leak from turbo return to sump pipe (new gaskets fitted)

-Coolant leak, suspected thermostat housing

-F+R N/S wheel studs previously crossthreaded and stripped
(Retapped and new wheel nuts)

-5th gear synchro crunch
(Fixed with Redline Shockproof gear oil)

-Water leaking through rear light seals and collecting on boot floor
(Have removed bung in spare wheel well for now!)

-Car cutting out at low revs, probably due to cheap nasty d/v
(Turbosmart Plumb Back on its way)

Engine has let go and is knocking like hell-
We suspect it has spun a shell but looking at the poor build quality by the previous owner we're going to take this opportunity to strip the engine and forge it ready for some big power.

Low mileage Evo 3 engine fitted now and running sweet :tu:

I will update this as and when we get time to dig deeper

OLDGIT

Be brave and put the later evo running gear in it Christeeeeeeeeeen
A big job but that would be the ultimate Evo 2. Norris did it and that thing was unbeatable, his was a 3 but same shell.
