THE HOG'S HEAD
Located a block or so off High Street, the Hog's Head Inn has been a fixture of Hogsmeade for hundreds of years. A worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a "wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it". It's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the Three Broomsticks down the street, and attracts a "shall we say... interesting clientele," at least according to Albus Dumbledore.
Though they are allowed to on Hogsmeade weekends, Hogwarts students rarely visit the Hog's Head. The pub doesn't seem to be a particularly popular spot among adults, either. Those that do frequent the Hog's Head seem to be of a particular sort. More specifically, they all tend to keep their heads covered. The bar in the Hog's Head is small and extraordinarily dirty and strewn with sawdust, with the windows nearly opaque and the floor all but invisible beneath the dirt. There is an "ancient wooden till" behind the bar that serves as cash register, and the entire room smells strongly of "something that might have been goats." Even the rags behind the bar seem filthy. Behind the bar is a "rickety wooden staircase" leading up to a sitting room, most likely an open area between the guest rooms, with a fireplace and a curtained window looking down at the street. The guest rooms themselves are located above the bar, and like the bar itself are not noted for being especially clean. Above the fireplace in the upstairs sitting room is a portrait of Ariana Dumbledore. |

THE HOGSMEADE STATION
A "tiny, dark platform" where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey north from Platform Nine-And-Three-Quarters. The station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. The station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds.

MADAME PUDDIFOOTS
A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off High Street. The only Hogwarts students who seem to patronize the place are trysting couples.

HONEYDUKES
A sweetshop, owned by Ambrosius Flume and his wife, which is filled with "shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable" . In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate. For obvious reasons, the shop is quite a popular destination for Hogwarts students when visiting Hogsmeade on the weekends. Down in the cellar of the shop, amidst the boxes and wooden crates and known to only a select few people, is a trap door in the dusty floor - which opens to reveal a secret passageway to Hogwarts.

THE POST OFFICE
The only wizarding post office we ever hear of, where at least three hundred owls, from Great Grays to tiny Scops ("Local Deliveries Only"), wait to carry messages. They sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination. It is also referred to as an "owl office".

THE THREE BROOMSTICKS
A well-known inn and a frequent haunt of Hogwarts students. It's warm and comfortable, is packed every time Harry goes in, and is a great spot to drink butterbeer, although they also serve firewhisky, gillywater, mulled mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella. The owner of the bar is Madam Rosmerta.
