Two albums from the 80s tend to get hailed above all others as the fastest, heaviest and most brutal: these are Slayer - Reign in Blood (1986) and Napalm Death - Scum (1987). But there's been plenty of stuff that's faster (Siege - Drop Dead, 1984), heavier (Deceased - The Evil Side of Religion, 1986) and more brutal (Insanity, FCDN Tormentor, Archenemy and Decapitation's output around 85-86). However, what would you say if I told you that I found an album from 1983 that - in terms of heaviness, brutality, speed, musical violence and general extremity - blew all the above the fuck out of the water. This band makes Napalm Death look like a lame pop punk band, makes Slayer look like choirboys and make Deceased sound like Linkin Park. Here we go: Wikipedia might say 1984, but trust me, the album Campaign for Musical Destruction was released by dutch nutcases Larm in 1983. It is still standing today, in my *well-researched* opinion, as easily one of the top 5 most extreme recordings TO THIS DAY. Go check the uploads forum! |

I heard noise. Then I got bored :P Not for me, thanks haha. Definitely some of the most extreme music of the time though, no doubt about it. |
