I agree there, you cannot overuse dual guitar solos, they make an amazing song a skull crushingly amazing song. I was annoyed when I read that, by Mikael did it in the mid nineties - when he said everyone did it - ten years later, not a single fucking harmony in sight, the only flaw to Watershed.

I love how ANYTHING you say about Opeth on UG incites a huge storm of fanboys trying to make you change your mind. I love them, yes, but they have flaws just like any band. UG is unprepared to accept this.

You guys, as thrash fans, will agree Opeth totally lack agression, right? They're downright relaxing. Tell that to UG, who will rise to tell you Opeth have the most blisteringly brootal music ever.

Confront them with the lack of harmonies since 2000 or so, and they will rise up saying LOL BUT TEHY AREN'T NEEDED.

Tell the Damnation was a boring repetetive album, and they absolutely go insane. Visit the Opeth thread for my Cake analogy, which they haven't yet thought of a comeback for :P

They can get kind of aggressive but they don't make me headbang that much. (Except A Funeral Portrait) I myself love Damnation, I have four albums so far.

I only listen to Opeth for their ballads. I just can't get into their heavy stuff.

This the most truth you have ever said. Ever. I just can't get into Opeth at all. I have tried, I mean really. But the last time I did I fell asleep on my laptop.

I think Opeth is fantastic because they're the easiest metal band to chill and space out to. Closely followed by Nachtmystium.
