Come here if you've burnt yourself out on thrash, and we'll give you the most brutal the other sub-genres can offer you instead.

Rottrevore - Iniquitous: One of the best DM albums ever! Sounds like a steamroller flattening everything in its path... including buildings!

You bitches need to listen to Keep of Kalessin. Best black metal I've ever heard, and I'm really not a fan of BM.

Actually, has anyone heard Kataklysm and are they any good? My friend kept harping on about them awhile ago but I'm yet to check them out.

They're at BOA this year but I was just wondering.

Judas Priest's Painkiller is one of my most favourite albums of all time. It is unrelenting metal that will rip your face off. I'm a big fan of the band in general but that one sticks out a fair distance.

Other non-thrash bands I would recommend are Nevermore, Rob Halford's bands Fight and Halford, Soulfly, and if your looking for something thats a bit of a mix of lots of things then I would suggest Celtic Frost.

TBH I find the song Painkiller from the album Painkiller is the only worthwhile music Priest ever made :/ Everything else is altogether too poppy and glam.

I forgot to mention Machine Head. Their first album Burn My Eyes and their most recent two; Through The Ashes Of Empires and The Blackening are Metal classic and classics to be.
