Pulling for him.

I've said this before.....I stood next to him on the sidelines and watched him play his Jr. year in the state semi-finals. I knew right then he was something very special.

I also knew if Dooley didn't get canned we didn't have a shot.....and I would have turned in my Vol card.

His 1st HS game I saw was on TV where he went 80 yds off tackle for a TD. Then, Malone took the KO back for a TD and I thought, "Now, we have a chance."

A healthy Hurd will smash the all-time rushing record. I would put Hurd in the top 3 RBs to ever play for UT. I know that some will say it is Chuck Webb. He was unbelievably talented, but Jamal Lewis was a huge and fast freakish freight train. Lewis is the best RB that i have ever seen at UT. His records would have never been broken had he played 4 years and Fulmer had not sat him for 4 games his freshman season.

Jamal himself stated when Jalen committed that " in 5 yrs, he will be the prototype of a rb "

Jamal is the closest thing we have had to Hershel or Bo. Nothing against Hurd because he's a beast, but he's not Jamal.

Without Jamal getting hurt.....his yardage might never be broken at UT.

Future Tennessee high school Hall of Fame coach James Counce said he was the baddest man his teams had ever faced on the gridiron. I think Counce's Henry County team won the state title that year.

I think that's probably correct. If he'd had 3 full, healthy 12 game seasons of 250 carries (including bowl stats), he'd have been over 4k.

Jamal was a freak very close to the level of Bo Jackson/Hershel (but not quite there). Whenever people want to argue about who our best back of all time was, I laugh inside when they try to say someone else. The argument is about number 2.
