Who will play left offensive tackles. All of the hopes have been on Drew Richmond to step forward and take the spot.

Lately there has been no talk of Richmond, but a lot of talk about Brett Kendrick.

What gives?

Maybe a RS-JR OT who has had 4 yrs of weights and played quite a bit at a pretty good level is going to challenge a RS-FR OT for playing time. The fans have given it to Richmond, the coaches have not.

Kendrick could start on either side at OT or OG. This may make him more valuable as the 6th OLman than a starter. What a nice problem to have since we haven't had 5 good starting OLmen since Butch's 1st year.

You have Jason Robertson and Weisman returning at the guard position.

I am aware of that. If our center is hurt, than Robertson moves to center and Kendrick plays ROG. If one of the OGs is hurt, Kendrick is the next one in, imo. He can play 4 positions where I don't believe Richmond nor Hall or ready mentally for OG or OC.

Don't forget that Jack Hall can play 4 positions on the OL.

I think they go at least 6 deep and maybe 7 deep of decent quality. You might be able to add in a couple more guys.

Do you mean Jack Jones or Chance Hall? Hall is going to play ROT and the word I am getting is that they are going to try to RS Jones, if possible. I got very encouraged when the 2 true FR OLmen at ROG and ROT played their butts off against those grown men at Bammer.

Kendrick is the starter at right tackle. The staff may be using him to push Richmond on the other side. If Richmond struggles, they can easily slide Kendrick over and start Chance Hall at right tackle.

Hall is the right offensive tackle starter from all indications that I have seen.

Isn't it nice to be able to debate the OL and have several options involving talented players? The last 2 years we have been discussing which OG we were going to move to OT or if a walk-on had come on and was going to start there.

One thing, Kendrick can play and will play somewhere on that line. He may not start, but he will play.

This pretty much matches every pre-season depth chart that I have seen. Only incorrect slot is Gaulden, who will start at safety instead of Berry and also Raulerson has transferred out.
