Remember the old threads discussing recruiting grounds and proximity to the the "recruiting hot beds"? Here is a breakdown of recruiting hotbeds in the SEC on the offensive side of the football. Some posters have been so wrong on the state of Tennessee's athlete production in recent years. As Ricky Ricardo would say, "Lucy, you got some 'splaying' to do". Tennessee's SEC talent base is growing leaps and bounds, due to the population boom in middle Tennessee. It is a smart move to build a string base in middle Tennessee and be able to recruit all around the core of the Vols recruiting base. Best SEC recruiting grounds by position: Offense Where do SEC football players come from? Look to Georgia, and specifically Atlanta |

Where are the D 1 players from Tennessee going? Most will be at MAC level schools, not SEC teams. Those figures are misleading. |

How many are SEC types? Thanks the point. You can name a few great ones but then go to other states and name them. If Tennessee was such a hotbed, the Vols would be loaded with players from the area. So would other teams. You're dreaming when you think Tennessee is such a great recruiting area. Compare with Florida, Texas, Ga, etc. Then you will learn something about recruiting. |

Hot bed states. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, DaBoot then Tennessee in the so called traditional south eastern recruiting region. Nationally 3 states generate 40% of the elite blue chips 5 states - over 50% of the blue chips. Tennessee < 3% While population growth is a good thing - it may be awhile till the state move up the ladder per se. |

Tennessee output of D1 talent has doubled and will continue to increase due to population growth. It is a nice solid core to be able to recruit and worthy of building a solid pipeline to. |

How many SEC types in this grow? That's the point! The Vols couldn't field a competitive team if they had to rely on Tennessee recruits alone. |

And every major team in the nation is setting up shop to recruit Tennessee. Why? Because Nashville is a new and growing hotbed of talent. |
