All Of The Tajh Boyd Believers Can Go Home Now

Remember all of the fans who cried over Kiffen telling Tajh Boyd that he did not fit his profile for a QB in his system and essentially encouraging him to go elsewhere?

Sure Boyd had a nice ride at lemon running a spread offense. However, when he got to the NFL and had to run a pro style offense he struggled with his accuracy and with his arm strength. There New York Jets cut Boyd today.

For the record, Tajh Boyd would never have been able to beat Tyler Bray out for the starting QB job at Tennessee. The Vols ran a pro style passing attack and Bray would have easily held Boyd off.

Hah. Matt Simms beats him out.

I've seen sims run a couple of series and he didn't look that bad. Maybe he just wasn't getting coached up, the receivers weren't where they were supposed to be, etc. His toughness is beyond question

Hmmm ... Simms was also waived. The Jets now only have 2 QBs on the roster.

Makes sense. Simms knows the Jets offense and if one of the QBs get injured, he will be elevated to the roster immediately.

Cutting Simms allowed the Jets to cary and extra position player that they feel that they need or don't want to let go.
