No big surprises. Three freshmen starting, Robertson, Barnett and Wolf. Pig Howard has worked his way back to the first team at WR. They only list 4 DBs, but Coleman is of course, the nickle back.

Looks like the kicking roles are going to be a game-day decision.

So, here's some scary facts about our two-deep:

(1) It has 11 true freshman, four of whom are starting (TE Wolf, OG Robertson, DE Barnett in base, and CB Moseley in nickel)
(2) It has 4 walk-ons. A true freshman walk-on is #2 at MLB (Jumper) and a RS Senior is starting at LT (Gilliam).

Who the hell is Colton Jumper?

What the hell happened to Bynum and King?

You are totally killing my blind preseason optimism buzz

According to Hubbs, King has done nothing to get himself on the field. He may play special teams. I don't believe Bynum is athletic enough to give them what they want and Bryant doesn't have a big enough grip on MLB to be able to move defenders into proper position.

It looked like Butch was really begging Bynum to step up to that leadership role and he just didn't make it. I believe the plan is to move JRM, in the nickel, to MLB to run the show. Looks like the transfer from The Hun School, Mr. Jumper, beat out Bynum for the back up at MLB in the 4-3.

Zip, when I saw his name, I had to look it up ... I hadn't focused on him at all.

He is from the Chattanooga area, and didn't get scholarship offers coming out of high school. So, he went to a year of prep and got a Navy appointment ... but failed the physical because he has some sort of condition that disqualifies him from military service, but doesn't impact his football status. He was offered a preferred walk-on at Tennessee, and enrolled in January.

And, amazingly, he passes up Bynum and Bryant (I think King is an OLB).
