Martin did a good job coaching! Tennessee schooled Iowa in overtime. Tennessee has a well coached defense.

I will give Martin credit for instilling mental toughness into the players. That is what carried them to victory tonight.

Iowa gave it their best shot for 39 minutes tonight and we almost gave the game back to them once we got ahead. Mental toughness put us over the edge.

Iowa was better prepared X;s and O's wide, but the Vols were tougher mentally and physically.

MARTIN: To hold a team that scores 82 points to 65 points in an OT game. That’s tremendous.
Richardson played a great defensive game tonight.

Iowa blaming their loss on the officiating.

Maybe the worst officiated game in history. Reply
Now we know why the line changed so dramatically the last two days.

Exactly what I expected when I heard Tennessee was a very physical team.

Win or Lose, these refs are terrible.

Yep. The Hawks played a perfect game. This one is on the refs 100%.

its pretty clear without refs bias, the hawks are a 2 loss team riding high into the tourney. this is just wrong.

I don't understand what Iowa is supposed to do in the post. The refs give Tenn the call EVERY damn time but on defense Tenn can do whatever...pathetic

I don't get why big guys are allowed to just plow over defenders. Not basketball.

If we can hit outside shots, our physicality can make a difference. Maymon finally looks like his knee has heaed. Stokes can dominate, even given his lack of height.

Did you realize that we were 25 of 30 from the charity line?

Fran McCaffrey said after the game that every Volunteer player came up to him and hugged him, saying good luck to him and his family and that they would be thinking about them throughout the tourney.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery's post game quotes,
Quote:

"I want to congratulate Tennessee on a great season and a great game. Cuonzo exhibited an unbelievable amount of class. I don't know him that well, but the way he responded to my personal situation. And then after the game, to have the Tennessee players hug me and tell me that they are thinking about me. You know, most kids just want to run and jump on top of each other in the locker room. I was really impressed with those guys and the program that Cuonzo has built there."

Richardson should get MVP for holding their best player to 5 points.

I have not discussed this yet, but did anyone else get tired of hearing Iowa this and Iowa that?

They rarely talked about Tennessee doing anything that was good.

The entire talk was about Fran McCafferey, who I believe is a really good coach, and his son having cancer surgery. Sure that is a story in itself, but if they had done their homework, they could have tied in Cuonzo Martin having overcome cancer himself.

Just a poor one-sided broadcast last night.
