it's going to be difficult for the school and conference to BBB..

IMO BB should move on to another school/another conference - for his sake.

Agreed, but that is where many of our hearts are at. I can see Brice moving on to BC or WF.

All this frenzy about Pearl is going to lead to a lot of disappointment when the new coach is hired. At this pace, Pearl is going to reach deity status in a few months.

The only way tha I can see him even being considered if there is a change, is for him to apologize to Cheek. As best I can remember, he had some very harsh things to say about Cheek. Personally, if I was in his shoes I wouldn't want the job enough to take back what I had said. By that's me.

I think it is more than Cheek ... there are rumors that Pearl crossed the Haslam's as well. None of us really know what happened back then, but a lot of bridges would need to first be repaired.

Which is why the chances of Pearl to Tennessee are in the hopes of the romantics.

Petition now at 23,000 strong. Maybe the Haslams should swallow a little pride if there is, in fact, a problem there. If they love UT, then maybe they ought to think above the average fans who are hell bent on getting Bruce back. Greg Marshall ain't coming to UT and he is the only corch I'd just as soon hire as Pearl.

It's time to deluge Dave Hart with your opinion. athleticdirector@utk.edu. It's entirely Hart's call.

and a coaching change appears to be immanent no matter what happens.

When this happens the Mike Hamilton era ends with a whimper ...

* Todd Raleigh (baseball) ... gone, a disaster hire
* Bruce Pearl (basketball) ... gone, a great hire
* Lane Kiffin (Football) ... gone, a mattress fire
* Derek Dooley (Football) ... when he was hired, we all said "who?" ... when he was fired, we all said "now we know"
* Cuanzo Martin (basketball) ... going, a disaster hire

With 30,000 signatures on a petition, how can they not re-hire Pearl? BTW, talked to a Vet friend today at the animal clinic and he had an interesting comment or two. Don't know his source but I do know he is a booster and does talk to some folks up east. He said that Hart wants to be SEC Commissioner and that he, Hart, won't rehire Pearl because he doesn't want to piss off Slime and others at the SEC office. Obviously no way to confirm this, only time will tell I guess.

(a) Because in the history of the world, a school has never hired a coach that was previously fired.
(b) Because on-line petitions are slacktivism ... if someone wants to make a difference, it takes dollars and energy. On-line petitions are zero-cost, and thus carry no weight.
