Welcome our QB for the 2014 class, coming in as a preferred walk-on: Devin Smith.

He doesn't have offers from any schools of note. I actually liked the highlight film. He has a throwing motion that looks awkward and probably needs some work, but he looks to be quick on his feet.

I hope he lasts longer than our last preferred walk-on quarterback.

There might be another one. Quarterback Will Bradshaw (6-5, 219) from Dyersburg High School is still mulling over his offers from smaller schools and also some type of offer from Mississippi State. He has a sister at UT and his family are big Vol fans who have the ability to send him to Knoxville as a preferred walkon.

I liked the film on Stankavage, but I am okay with Butch not offering him. The fact that Butch signed Dobbs last year after having Ferguson in the fold last year, likely chased off any top class of 2014 QB. Going after another QB in the class of 2014 might have created a feeling of cramped quarters in the QB position.
