This may be the best inn-state signing class we have had. Mind you it is not in total numbers, rather, in getting the the very best total talent out of the state and especially the mid-state area around Nashville. The 2015 and 2016 classes look to be even more talented and deeper.

Nashville is going to be our hotbed in the future.

Maurice Paton hates the Vols. He is a big Vandy homer.

There are several *if's" that come in to play.

Vanderbilt football goes back in to the toilet. *If* they can continue winning 7 to 9 games a year - they have the academic advantage.

HS football - *if* the quality on and off the field (sports and academics) parents come in to play - see the above. A Vanderbilt degree is a door opener. Ask any parent about the value of a Vanderbilt degree.

Think Georgia and Georgia Tech. Who has the advantage in talent year in and year out in Georgia? The same will apply with UT and Vandy.

*IF* the ACC continues on its recent track - national championships in football - and its for sure that conference will rule basketball (witness the Syracuse/Duke game last night 35K in attendance) with the addition of Notre Dame - GT will benefit.

Quote "think Georgia and Georgia Tech." As a parent with an undergraduate engineering education - advising a kid who is interested in the high paying careers in engineering "after football".

Does Tennessee have an advantage over Vanderbilt - when its only football? Sure it does. After football? Let the job market make that decision.

The point I made was the big *if* they continue winning seasons and going to bowl games - they'll get their fair share of recruits from the immediate area with the winning/education package, al la Baylor, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Duke, Wake Forest, and coming out of the ashes, Rice. Will they go head to head vs Tennessee recruiting wise - sure - and they'll get a few *if* they continue to win on the field combined with getting a Vanderbilt degree.

FWIW - Rice is benefiting by winning games - currently have 5 commitments from the Houston Top 100.
