You could say the same thing about GA, SC, AL, MS, ARK, LA, FL, and Texas the last 4 recruiting classes except for rare exceptions. Mapquest says Berea is 2 hours from Knoxville but I think it is likely a little less than that. Certainly a bigger selling point than join all the way to MI or to OSU which are considered his leaders. Kensucky is about a 1 hour drive but Louisville is a longer drive than Knoxville. So if Harris wants to play in the SEC or wants a traditional Top 10 program then no other program is closer unless you say Kensucky and the SEC argument. |

There's an extra year of eligibility (or, an extra year to redshirt is probably a more accurate way to say it). That's something; it's actually less of a gamble as it gives him another full year to recover if he needs it. Then there's also the something of playing for Tennessee rather than shitty Vandy, Kentucky, NCSt, or freaking GA Southern. This is also something, probably worth a gamble in his eyes. Its really not that much of a gamble now, ACL tears arent what they used to be. If he greyshirts the chances UT doesnt put him on scholarship next year are very low. |

Tennessee coaches offered Paulk and are doing the right thing by honoring his offer in light of his injury. There is was much risk in offering Paulk as there is in offering Hurd. Both will coming off of injuries that could affect their play. Stick with your commitment to the players you offered. |

My point is that Tennessee signs zero quality players out of Kentucky ... we get an occasional decent player out of other states on that list except for Arky. |
