I was at my son's basketball game and missed it. I did follow it on twitter. Former Assit, Mark Pancratz said that Florida threw a match up zone against UT and we never found a way to solve it. Goes to show that CXuonzo came into the game completely unprepared to handle it. Pancratz wondered why more teams have not tried that match up zone because UT struggles against zones period.. |

I was at my sons game and a former UT football captain was there to watch his grandson play and we got to talking about the hoops situation and Bruce Pearl and how Jimmy Cheeks will not allow it. He said that is Big Bob Halsam tells him to hire Butch back, then Cheeks better hire him back. |

Cheeks was probably offended because Bruce exposed his nipples. |

We shot terribly and we had a tough time with their press. Even when we were getting the ball across court, there were already 8 or more seconds wound off of the shot clock. While this game was hard to watch...getting stomped by a top ten team at home still doesn't bother me as much as losing to A&M at home. I seriously doubt we will ever see Pearl coach a UT team again....but I really see no reason why we would let Martin coach beyond this year unless we just can't afford the buyout. This should have been our year to be a top 15 team and we're not remotely close to playing at the level our talent should have us playing. Next year is a re-load and we will be VERY young. Unless UT is OK with being a perpetual NIT team, then it's time...... |

+1 I believe that Candy beat A&M in College Station yesterday. Maybe Martin will do the honorable thing and resign at the end of the season, but I doubt it. Will be interesting to see what happens with WarLICK in College Station today. Both programs are on the downhill slide right now. |

I think you're being too hard on Holly. Pat hadn't won a championship in five years. Since that time while we've been a top ten team, we haven't been to a final four. Holly inherited a bit of a mess, with four starters gone, Pat gone and we won the SEC regular season. I think she was the SEC coach of the year. This year we've lost to the # 2 & # 4 teams - not a crime. The problem was losses to LSU and Vandy......but if you watched yesterday's game, they played quite well without their starting point guard (hmmmm.... I've been telling anybody who would listen that Carter is the real deal). Holly has recruited well....gotten some strong assistants....and gotten better at game plans. I think she's got to learn how to make more changes on the fly, but losing a legend coach and keeping pace with what that coach was doing the past five years shouldn't be a crime. |

you are right about Carter and I did watch, in amazement quite frankly. We shall see how it plays out the rest of the year. I am eager to see how they fare against Kentucky and South Carolina. Obviously Warlick is not going to be run off this year no matter what happens. Flatnose Simmons was hitting yesterday, when she is not she still continues to throw up shots. I thought the big freshman played well and may be adjusting now to the college game. Was not impressed at all with A&M and wondered how they had been 9-0 in the conference. BTW, Cujo went to LSU and put a beating on a pretty good team. It happens. |

One of the amazing transitions I've seen is Harrison from Freshman to Sophomore years.....that's on Holly as well..... It is nice to see Russell starting to play better...she's looked a little lost at times. |
