Thanks to a 26-16 victory by the Denver Broncos over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game and a 23-17 win by the Seattle Seahawks over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, a former Tennessee Volunteer will appear in the Super Bowl for the 22nd time in the past 23 years. The Broncos have four VFLs on the roster, including MVP favorite quarterback Peyton Manning, punter Britton Colquitt and defensive linemen Robert Ayers and Malik Jackson. A former World Champion, it will be Manning's third Super Bowl appearance and his first since 2010. The Vol great led the Indianapolis Colts to a win in Super Bowl XLI, where he earned MVP honors. Defensive tackle and former Vol Tony McDaniel of the Seahawks will also be heading to New Jersey, guaranteeing a former Vol will be bringing home the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2014. With five products in the Super Bowl, Tennessee has the most players of any college in the Super Bowl. Wisconsin has 4 and no other school has more than three Most Players In Super Bowl XLVIII By College (Active Roster) Tennessee: 5 Wisconsin: 4 Arizona State: 3 California: 3 Florida: 3 Georgia: 3 Kentucky: 3 NC State: 3 San Diego State: 3 Texas A&M: 3 USC: 3 |
