Our guys did not excel in this game yesterday. Neal played very timid. There is not doubt that he has good size and good speed. He ran hard for the Vols the past two seasons and I respect him for that. However, yesterday, he ran like a timid mouse yesterday. James Stone was owned yesterday. His man continued to get leverage on him and push him around or beat him on his way to the QB. I felt that in his time as our center, that he may have been our weak link on the O Line and much of our running game issues centered on him not getting the job done. Maybe this clarifies that. |

I saw the 1st half so far of the Shrine Bowl and the evil Neal raised his ugly head. He may have been playing not to get hurt so he can be injury free at the combine. He made a good catch, but lost yds and that is OK. He is a good pass blocker and has a chance to make a team as a 3rd round back. Stone did OK. The OTs got schooled and some of the DEs made some money this weekend. The EIU QB looked pretty good and I can't wait to see him this week at the SR Bowl practice. Stone looking like a 6th-FA guy, but he played OG this weekend and that should help him. The big problem on our OL was the LOG. He looked out of shape and uninspired most of the year. I want to see Ja'Wuan go one on one in pass blocking drills this week. He will be blocking Dee Ford Aub and Chris Smith ARK. In the game he will block Trent Murphy Stan, James Gayle v-tech, Kareem Martin UNC. SR Bowl will have 1st and 2nd day guys that the all star games this weekend didn't have a lot of. I will try to stay on top of it and pass along info. |
