If Tom Jurich at Louisville can swallow his pride and forgive what Bobby Petrino did to them and hire him back as their football coach, why can't Dave Hart and Tennessee forgive Bruce Pearl for what happened when he was at UT, and hire him back? Petrino will keep Louisville nationally relevant in football. Bruce Pearl would make Tennessee nationally relevant in basketball again. |

Two different's situations. Also, we are on probation and hiring Bruce would not be a good signal. |

What did Petrino do to Louisville other than leave before his contract expired? It's the same thing that 98% of all head coaches do. Pearl, on the other hand, got Tennessee put on probation with the NCAA. Edited by OrangeRev, Jan 15 2014, 04:23 PM.

Two different situations as mentioned. Both have issues - and not only at Tennessee and Arkansas. Both are winners - when the game is being played. Football more so that basketball has a history of character flawed coaches - who did a great job winning - Barra Switzer is the first one that comes to mind - a great football coach - in college and the pros. Jackie Sherrill - A&M made him the highest paid coach in the college game when the nabbed him from Pitt. The Ags opened the vault - Jackie turned it around and dominated the SWC. Time ran out before he could win a NC in B/CS - then moved on to the SEC and MSU. Basketball isn't that big a deal in the SEC. Bring Pearl back helps that - and he win games. This time around make sure you don't get caught... |
