Some rumors surfacing from Vandy players ... here are some alleged tweets/comments:

Supposedly a player said : "That man sat in front of my family and said he would be there for 5 years"

Also supposedly said " He wont tell us anything, no one around here knows anything, I have no loyalty to that man anymore"

UAB head coach Garrick McGhee has resigned at UAB to go to Louisville and be Bobby Petrino's OC. Another Domino at the lower ranks.

Vandy should pursue Chad Morris, OC of Clemson.

Can he recruit?

That has been Jimmy Frank's strength.

Hmmm ... good point. I was only thinking about up and coming coaches who seem to be able to coach.

If I were guess, I would say Mike McIntyre or Mark Hudspeth.

Both are charismatic guys and they need that now more than ever.

McIntyre seems like he might become an up and coming coach, but he's not there yet. That may be a risky hire.

Looking at his staff, I think Petrino might turn Louisville into a powerhouse.

Mike would have done a great job at Tennessee had they hired him.

Penn State, of all teams, should have avoided James Franklin
Quote:

Penn State cannot hire James Franklin. Can't even begin to think about it, actually.

The fact there is "baggage" in the background of Vanderbilt's talented, affable, accomplished coach is enough. All you need to know is that Franklin was Vanderbilt's coach last June 23 when police say four of his players raped an unconscious 21-year-old student in a dorm room.
Penn State is taking it on the chin.

Vandy players says that Franklin told him less than an hour ago that Franklin has not made a decision.

Jimmy Franks is still employed by Vandy.

Okay, I'll go out on a limb and just say that Jimmy Franks turns Penn State down.

What would the hold up be about?

Could be money. Reportedly he would be taking a sizable pay cut to leave Vandy for Penn State.

Is it recruiting budget? Hell Penn State would bring in the top talent in a 5-6 state swath without spending a dime.
