USC got it started, now Chris Peterson (Boise) has accepted the Washington position, making him "one of the highest-paid coaches in the Pac-12", according to the Seattle Times.

I'm surprised Boise has held on to him this long.

Boise is attempting to attract former OC Bryan Harsin back to the school. He is currently the Arky State head coach. If true, Arky State is becoming a one-and-done school ...

* Hugh Freeze was their 2011 coach only to leave to become the head coach of Ole Miss
* Gus Mulzahn was their 2012 coach only to leave after the season to become head coach of Auburn
* Now, it looks like Harson will go to Boise after being their coach for the 2013 season.

Per USC sources, Peterson severely bombed in his interview with them. USC really was eager to talk to him, but the sources said it was the worst interview that they had ever been in on.

I wonder of Peterson even cared?

Dave Clawson's name is being floated around with the Wake Forest opening. He just keeps moving up.

Clawson got a very bum rap around here. He is a damn good football coach.

Fulmer tracked that situation by injecting his input and his demands into Clawson's scheme. In effect, we never saw Clawson's offense. His scheme was so fractured and stopped by Fulmer's need to interfere at all levels. It seemed as though Fulmer wanted Clawson to fail.

I habe to wonder if Fulmer did not want him to fail. From all stories, Clawson was forced onto Fulmer. Fulmer may have purposefully sabotaged Clawson and would get permission to fire him at seasons end and bring in a a OC that he wanted.

Isn't Clawson in the MAC title game vs. Northern Illinois? I agree with Tux, he is a damn fine football coach. And that quarterback coach down at Florida State, what's his name, has done a fair job with Winston, wouldn't you agree?

Here's the latest on Texas:

As I have reported, there will be a meeting after the Baylor game involving Texas president Bill Powers, new athletic director Steve Patterson and Mack Brown in which they will discuss things and see if everyone is on the same page. As I have previously stated, I think there will be a mutual parting of ways at that time.

CBS is saying that Peterson is getting 3.6 Million a year, up from 2.1 million he got at Boise. I think that put him as the 11th highest paid coach, and is tops in the Pac 12 (Shaw makes 2.5 million ... Kiffin made 2.5 at USC).

Some real talk that Shaw has an interest in the Houston Texans job. Gary Kubiak was fired today.

Keep an eye on Eddie Gran for the Arkansas State job. He was involved in the search last go-around.
I liked Eddie Gran when he was at UT.
