After A&M spanks them for a couple of more years (both in terms of recruiting and revenue), it makes me wonder if Texas will try to get into the SEC. |

The Texas to the SEC ship has already sailed for the next few years. We share revenue equally in the SEC (socialists). Texas gets a special deal for more money in the Big 12, plus their own cable network. The SEC has a single new network for ALL the conference teams. Plus I think the Big 12 put a huge multimillion dollar poison pill clause in their last contract with member universities. The ACC poison pill is almost 50 million dollars, if any team leaves. I'm not sure the amount of the Big 12 penalty, but it's substantial. There will not be much conference movement for some time in the future, other than the little teams. The big guys are fairly well set and prepared to move into a future with an expanded post season playoff. The playoff is where the big money is. TV money bidding will be ridiculous. |
