134 yards on 20 carries, including a 60 yard TD gallop on the 2nd play from scrimmage. He is always a threat to go all the way on a run from scrimmage.

Lane had a 54 yard run this year, Lane averages more yards per carry, Lane averages more yards per reception, and Lane only has 1 fumble all year to Neal's 5. Lane also seems to find holes better than Neal. Neal had a good game at Kentucky, and Neal has done a good job this year ... but I think Lane is a better back. Rev How many carries did Lane have and who were they against? Statistics alone do not reveal who the better back is. You use selective statistics to prove your case. It's okay to have an opinion who is better, but to throw in bogus data is a stretch. |

I agree. The only thing Neal has on Lane is that Neal is faster. Otherwise your opinion is correct. Lane averaged 1.6 yards per carry more than Neal in the Vandy game and Lane should have been in there in the fourth quarter to make the tough yards. With a solid winter of workouts, I expect Lane to be a horse next season. |

I'm not sure which stat is bogus.....but I also like Lane a bit better. My guess is that he's still a bit in Jones's doghouse, compared to Neal, who's been a virtual boy scout during his time at UT. If they can stay healthy, Lane and Hurd should be a great tandem next year. My concern really is who's number three....Picket, perhaps. He's a rocket....but unless he's changed since I saw him in high school....he doesn't seem to have the ability to find his way through traffic....pretty much straight line speed. I hope he's changed..... |

Reading between the lines, I think Lane's problem is he doesnt especially like working out or practicing. |

If you would like to provide some more information to refute my points, feel free to post it. But, my data is not bogus ... it is the true data. |
