Dobbs sucks as a passer. He got UT beat. Fuk him. I wish his arse had signed with Arizona State.

I have been telling folks since the first game that Dobbs played that he is not as good as the hype given to him and that he was not a SEC cabler QB.

Then we heard the ole"He is just a freshman, why do you expect?".

The kid is not accurate with his passes, he can not read his defenses, and he has a suspect arm.

We need a QB at UT, not a rocket scientist.

I was one of those, Tux. I agree with you now.

He's had four games, and all he can hit is a screen? That is not an SEC quarterback.

The question is now, do we actually have a SEC caliber QB on this roster?

If not, how are we going to get on running this offensive scheme? It is not a pass friendly or QB friendly scheme.

I think Worley is a journeyman SEC level quarterback. He isn't going to set the world on fire, but he is serviceable.
Before he was hurt, I was pleased with how he had progressed.

Obviously, I don't know about Ferguson.

Hyam's was talking about the qb's position on the drive up. He said, and I had heard before, that UT was recruiting qb's but would not sign any unless they were considered by Butch to be better than the ones on our roster. Ferguson must be one heck of a qb.

I don't know of any good quarterbacks that have expressed an interest in UT. Sadly, that was likely due to the fact that we signed Dobbs in addition to Ferguson last year.

Dobbs is not an SEC quarterback. The receivers are inexperienced and some are not SEC material. The defense is slow and not at the SEC level. Now try to figure out why we lose games! Some of you will not be able to figure it out!

We have much more talent and speed than Vandy ... so let's see ... what could be the difference? Hmmmm ....

Oh I know! They have Franklin and we have Jones.

Precisely.

I thought that it was a huge mistake at the time when Butch decided to sign Dobbs, after Ferguson had been in the fold. You knew that with 4 young QBs on scholarship, you were not likely going to sign a good QB the following singing class.

Butch is on record stating that he wants to have at least 5-6 QBs on the roster. This is not the MAC or the Big East where you can afford to do that.

Which QBs stick around for next season?

Worley? Peterman? Ferguson? Dobbs?

If Dobbs is the best QB that we have, the UT program is going to climb out of the cellar anytime soon.

How are you going to recruit top QBs and WRs to your program when your QB prior to the last 16 seconds of the game, had 16 yards passing? Or how are you going to recruit a top WR and QB to the program that only has 10 TD passes for the season?

You have to believe that Jones will tell Ferguson the battle for the QB spot will be wide open in the spring. I will forever believe that Tennessee would have won last night had Worley or Ferguson been playing QB. The coaches lost the Florida game by first starting and then sticking with Peterman too long.
Dobbs has a weenie arm and I must apply AV's logic here. If he was so good, why was he not offered by either big in-state school, Georgia or Georgia Tech?
The entire fourth quarter was played with Candy's entire starting secondary on the sidelines. North had injured his ankle but that is simply no excuse for not being able to move the ball through the air against them.
I was also dismayed to see Neal in there in the 4th after Lane had pounded the ball every time he touched it save once or twice. I won't be a bit surprised now if this bunch loses to Kentucky.

Neal ran hard last night. I found no fault in his game last night.

Now you have a major QB controversy going into next season. They players "love" Dobbs according to the broadcasters last night. If Worley is healthy, shouldn't he be the started next season given his experience? How do you keep Ferguson happy if Dobbs is starter after spring practice? I think Peterman will move on.
