Vols Class of 2014 Linebacker Haul

Let's make no bones about things. Our linebacker position has stunk for several years. Sure we have had a good linebacker here and there, but overall, as a whole, our linebacking corps has stunk to high heaven. We have either been too small, too slow, or could not play in space.

The linebackers in Legacy Class of 2014 looks to be breaking this trend. It is actually looking like one of the strengths of this class.

LB - Dillon Bates
LB - Gavin Bryant
LB - Kevin Mouhon
LB - Chris Weatherd (JUCO)

and possibly add Jakob Johnson into this group.

Here you have some guys who can run, have good size, and are great athletes.

Dooley's staff was HORRIBLE at recruiting linebackers ... it has been dreadful for years. By far, this was the area I complained about the most.

A.J. and Maggitt were the only heralded LBs from his time. A.J. will tackle anything between the guards but struggles to get to the tackles and beyond. Maggitt was always a project as a 4-3 LB. He is an edge pass rusher by nature.
