I cannot express the sheer joy that I have of seeing USC doing so well after Kiffin's firing ... just reinforcing the opinion that Kiffin is indeed a horrible coach - he had the talent. It wasn't about sanctions. It was about Kiffin's ability to be a leader - which we all knew was a problem when he left Tennessee. So, will Ogre get the job? He's becoming a fan favorite out there in LA. I think not (even if he wins out), but he is at least on the radar. And, because of his performance with USC, I bet Ogre ends up as a head coach somewhere in 2014.

Pat Haden puts a lot of emphasis on character and I thnk that would hurt Orgeron in his pursuit of he job. I can't help but go back to Kiffin hiring him at UT and Slive's reaction. Once you put black paint into a white bucket it will always be grey no matter how much white paint you add and I think Orgeron was perceived to be the black paint with Kiffin as far as Slive was concerned. Pat Hayden put a lock down on them when he took over at USC. I think the inteviewing of Del Rio on November 1st says a lot about how Pat Hayden will go. JMHO |

Lane Kiffin supports Ogre for the job ... well, that vote should just about end Ogre's chances. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/college-football/story/_/id/10015330/lane-kiffin-supports-ed-orgeron-usc-trojans-coach |

Ogre has resigned on the heels of the Sark hire ... I still think he ends up a head coach somewhere. (As I write this, Ed is probably calling all the recruits on a USC phone, and telling them to follow him). Edited by OrangeRev, Dec 2 2013, 03:27 PM.

Rumors are that USC was prepared to make coach Ogre the highest paid assistant head coach in the history of college football and even the players pleaded for him to stay but he declined. |

Wonder if he and Kiffie can hitch a ride on Jerry Buss (sic) heir's private jet, pick up Jimmy, Jr. and fly off to be peddled on some other unsuspecting AD? I bet the Red Bull hit the fan in the "mecca" of college football. UT wins, Broncos win, UA loses all is right with the world. |

So they told him that he wasn't going to get the job but wanted to make him the highest paid assist? He's worked to hard not to get a head coaching job. |
