The 2009 class Fulmer was putting together was top 5 when he was fired, IIRC. Kiffin dumped 1/2 of them and started over, ended up @ about 10.
Possibly the biggest diss by KiffTard was throwing Tajh Boyd away to Clemson where he has set all kinds of Clems Son passing records in his 3 years as a starter there. He is coming back to Clems Son next year as a SR unlike our brat Bray. Boyd will probably end up in the Top 5 All Time in the ACC passing stats. We sure got the raw end of that deal with punk assed Bray.

Who was the last uber-physically talented player to depart who would have been missed less than Bray? I would have to say just thinking quickly it would have to be Kelly Washington.
And btw, how does Daba Daba Dabo get great recruits to Clem's Son? He sounds like a goober from the Ozarks over in Arky! :beers:

Boyd would gave never beaten out Bray in a pro style offense. He does not have the arm to have been a great pro style QB.

He certainly has passed for a gazillion yards while setting Clems Son records by the gob. He also had a 5* WR in Sammy Watkins and another WR who has announced he is turning pro. I saw the other day that he might set the All Time ACC passing yards record next year. Drew Brees and Matt Ryan don't have cannon arms and neither do either Manning brother but all these guys have gotten it done in College and the NFL wouldn't you say?

Bray may have a cannon for an arm but his foot work is terrible and he wilts under a pass rush. Boyd is much more mobile and a lot of his completions are when he moves out of the pocket. Brays move out of the pocket is back peddling and throwing while going backwards. Such a pea brain Bray has. I would rather have Boyd any day of the week or second of the day than Bray. Boyd is a winner. Bray is a loser.

Tux I've never heard of those kind of fish but you ought to text Jones and tell him about the Clinch River in Lake City. The trout fishing is incredible. I bet he would really thank you if you turned him on to that.

and Tux when you all go, you both will need some waders. You will also have to call TWRA and find out when Norris Dam is letting the waters out. You have to fish while they aren't running. They usually only stop running for a couple hours. A bell will sound minutes before they run again. If you hear that bell you and the coach get out of there or we'll be already looking for another coach. I mean you might fish 2 minutes after the horn sounds but you all better get the hell out of there!

So have you tweeted him yet? What did he say?

Boyd's arm is not weak. With the benefit of hindsight...and some considerable weight given due to knowing how shitty our record was w/ Bray in retrospect...I'd much rather have signed Boyd. All things being equal anyway.

Bray was far from being what ailed this program. If he had stayed another season, he would have rewritten many UT passing records.

If this program had a decent defense, it would be interesting to see how differently he would have been regarded.

Boyd does not have a drop back pro style arm. He can not throw the deep out like he would need to do. He is pefect for a spread offense.

Bray was a huge reason we lost to Vandy and Kentucky. I don't know a UT QB from the past who can claim such proud honor. I'm real glad he's gone. I wouldn't take Bray trout fishing. No way!

I don't know if UT has ever had a QB with as much talent and less heart.

IMO, Bray was good and bad all at the same time.

Still there is no disagreement about wondering how Bray would have been remembered IF UT had any help from the defense.

That. I cant think of one, either.

Cheney would have been fine calling plays w/ Boyd at QB, btw. We would not have lost one game that Bray won if Boyd was our QB, and there's a good chance we may have won one or two Bray lost. And yes, Boyd would be a great fit for what Jones wants to do next year, which is a good chunk of the reason why I wish...in retrospect...we'd have signed Boyd rather than Bray.

Bray was all arm, no heart, no brains...

While Bray might not have been the major ailment on UT for the past 3 years, he also was NOT an asset in winning games. He has a bad work ethic and a bad attitude. Not many UT Starting QB's have the dubious distintion of losing to BOTH Kensucky and Candy in their UT career. And the kicker is that in both of those stinker it was Bray who quit on his team from the starting QB spot.

Me no wanna Bray anymo at UT.

Someone on 104.5 in Nashville said that UT coaches told NFL scouts that if the building was on fire the team wouldn't follow Bray out. That had to come from Chaney. That's his humor to a T.

I can find kids within 2 miles of my house that can hum it 50 yards...Bray wasn't a leader or a winner...and never had the 'IT' factor.

BJ understands the importance of getting former players involved in the program. We have former Vols that are some of the most storied players in the history of the NFL. Why not make them feel back at home?

The foundation/bedrock was laid decades ago. There is a lot to build on. Just do it.
