Texas likes to brag about how much money their athletic department makes, but one thing is for certain.....that money does not buy wins for their programs. Their football program is mediocre, even in the pitiful Big 12. Their basketball team never goes deep into the NCAA Tourney. Even their once storied baseball program sucks badly and is in as bad of shape as Tennessee's program was a couple of years ago. It may be time for Texas to hire a new AD to hire some coaches who can win with all of that money. http://www.expressnews.com/sports/college_sports/longhorns/article/Money-doesn-t-buy-wins-for-UT-4568673.php?t=689a5051e0d95dc057 |

Texas A&M coming to the SEC made Texas 2nd choice in football. There is an arrogance there, by some not all, in the athlethic dept. A Texan should want to play for Texas. Same thing went on at end of Fulmer's UT career. Mack Brown needs a big winner or he will be looking for work. Too many big boosters give too much money not to demand excellence. Basketball coach can recruit. He needs a Tex Winter to coach them. |
