Our Vols brethren in Knoxville need some perspective. On one of the UT boards, some fans were building up a Knoxville area high school kid, up, by the name of Daryl Rollins. Rollins is 5'8" 163 lbs and runs a 4.4 forty. Here is his 247 bio - http://247sports.com/Player/Daryl-Rollins-30251 Here is is Rivals bio - http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Daryl-Rollins-145946 All I did was post that we already have his skill set on the team and his name is Devin Young. You would have thought that I was the devil himself walking in St Peters Basilica. They(about 10 posters) started getting upset saying that his family reads the board and how mean it was of me to say such things. Then they said we should be looking closer at him because Vandy was starting to show some interest. We can not afford to sign every athlete in Knoxville area high schools. It is just not feasible for us to that and be competitive in the SEC. If this kid was from MarryMySister, West Virginia, not one of those guys would be pleading and begging the coaching staff to even look at this kid. Those folks need some perspective. |

Seems we have signed some recently from Knoxville that were a waste of scholarship, while at least a couple other worthy ones from the area were overlooked, |

Are you talking about class of 2014 OL Patrick Dalton? There are better OL that we are in on than him. As far as Dyshawn Mobley is concerned, he is a strong slashing RB, but I was not impressed by his speed. He would look like a good singing if we had him now, because of our lack of depth at RB, but he would still be buried on the depth chart. |

Jay Guillermo of Maryville was a 2012 commit to Clemson. Prep 1st team All American and ranked #1 center in the nation. Mobley would be a redshirt freshman this coming season and would have definitely contributed. I assure you he wouldn't be buried on our depth chart. |

You might want to recheck your information. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jay-Guillermo-116951 http://247sports.com/Player/Jay-Guillermo-1654?Institution=20339 Clemson, Miami, and Cincinnati were the only BCS schools to offer him a scholarship. Butch Jones chose to nit iffer him at UT, after he offered him at Cincinnati. Why was that? |

Dan Brooks got in on Jay early and it was pretty well known that Jay was leaning to Clemson. I like the fact that Butch was one of the ones who kept recruiting Jay when others had given up. Dooley was offering Knoxville area kids that no one but Maryville College and Tusculum were offering, but didn't try to out recruit Clemson for the #1 rated center in the nation. |

This kid was not the number one center pro sect. Number one prospects at a position get more than BCS school three offers. |

Did you open and read the links to Rivals and 247's on this kid? If so, you would have seen that they both had him rated as the #13th center in the nation in one service and the #9 in the other. That is far from #1. Tivals had him as 5.6 3 Star Add to it, we have already have James Stone, Bullard, and Mack Crowder, who could play the position and were on the roster.
