"I went in to see my high school coach and we were talking and the Tennessee coach walked in because he was in to see Derrell Scott and we're talking and he asked me who I was and I told him and my coach told them my story and how I was committed (to South Caroline) and he liked my frame and everything and he asked what if I can get you to Tennessee and I talked to my parents," Vickers explained. "Five days later I come down and I fell in love with it and told them I watned to be a Vol."

"I love everything. I love the atmosphere and everybody loves the Vols," Vickers said. "I knew they had my best interests and I kenw everthing would work out with me." "I can come in and make an impact soon with all the senior defensive linemen we have," Vickers offered. "I can come in and contribute fast for the team.

"Vickers said he told head coach Butch Jones of his decision to commit earlier Thursday.

"He's the one I told I was going to commit. He gave me a big, huge hug," Vickers added. As for the type of player Vickers is, he explained he's one that likes to wreak havoc off the edge." "Pass-rusher. I take pride in my craft and what I do. You can tell the fans a bunch of sacks are coming. Rushing the quarterback is a rush," Vickers said.-

This kid was committed to South Carolina, but because they could only sign 14-15 players, they told Vickers that his grades would probably be flagged and fir him to go to JUCO. That is pretty pathetic what Spurrier told this kid, if it is true.

Hopefully we will be grateful to Spurrier for the pick up, I think his weight is up above 240 ish, should be mature coming from Juco. Get in school this year, learn the system, get some quality minutes, get some more power and speed and he could be in line next year. We need depth on the D Line...good pick up
