“It was a really nice visit,” Hendrix told InsideTennessee.com. “I really enjoyed myself today. For it to only be a spring game the atmosphere was crazy. They had 60,000 people in there for the spring game. That wasn’t even a regular season game. For regular season games they have over 100,000 people in there.”

“It has been great getting to know coach Azzanni,” he said. “He is the recruiting coordinator here and we talk a lot. He is one of my favorite coaches to talk with.”

“Distance from home isn’t important to me,” he said. “I just want to feel comfortable at the place that I am going to be for the next four years. That is really important to me. I just want to be a part of a family where I go.”

You can really tell the Vol For Life program means something to those guys,” he said. “Seeing all those players come back for this is cool. It is a good thing for sure.”

Tennessee is my No. 1 right now,” he said. “This is just a really great place.”

Hendrix used to live in Tennessee and has family in Tennessee. He grew up a Vols fan. He is being recruited by some of the top schools in the nation. He has visited UT multiple times this winter/spring.

Dewayne Hendrix is going to go down to wire. He is said to be a difference maker and we need edge rushing difference makers.

“Right now I am just trying to take my time,” Hendrix told InsideTennessee.com. “I want to make my decision after my senior year. I want to take my official visits during the season. I am not sure where all I will go yet, but I do know I will be going to Tennessee and Florida. I’ll probably be at Tennessee for the Georgia game.”

“I have been talking with a lot of different schools recently,” said the four-star prospect. “Everyone is recruiting me really hard. It has been good getting to know all the different coaches and check everyone out, but mainly I have been talking with Tennessee,*Ohio State,*USC,*Iowa*and a couple of others.

“I don’t really have a leader right now. It is kind of hard right now. I have been thinking about it a lot, but they are really all even right now.”

“Everything with Tennessee is going really good right now,” he said. “They have a really positive coaching staff so they are fun to talk to and I am getting to know the whole coaching staff. I really don’t talk to just one coach. I talk to them all, which is cool.

“The main thing about Tennessee is the tradition that they have there. I have been there and had a wonderful time. They are a great school when you compare them to a bunch of others.”

“Basically the most important thing to me is where I fell like I fit in over the next four year,” Hendrix said. “Also, I want to go someplace where my Mom really likes it. She actually told me after my Tennessee visit that a lot of schools hard a bunch of work to do to catch up with them. She loves Tennessee.”

On Hendrix's mother loving UT quotes...

"His whole family loves the Vols. Met his uncle in Chicago and he was decked out in Tennessee gear."

"I don't think it's a done deal. He really wants to see USC and Florida and check out his options. I do think it will be tough for others to beat out the Vols, though."

I wanted to see if my mom had that same feeling so we went down for the orange and white game. She loved it there, but we wanted to be sure which is why we visited some other places. I never had that same feeling anywhere else. There was really no comparison to Tennessee with the other places I visited."

"I don't know man. It's so hard to put into words," Hendrix said. "Every time I went there, it felt like I was going home.

""My relationship with coach Stripling is great," Hendrix said. "He's so down to earth. I can talk to him about anything at any time. I love his open door policy that he and his players talk about and I already have that with him. We talk probably three times a week. He's great. Of all the other schools that recruited me, I didn't have a relationship with anyone the way I do with coach Stripling."

"Like I said, it feels like home and it's great to be a Vol," Hendrix offered.-VQ

Hendrix continues to tell everyone that he is 100% committed to the Vols, but he is still talking about possibly taking visits to Mizzou and Nebraska. He has friends who are attending or have committed to each of those schools.

It is never good to see commitments take other visits after committing.

Per Steve Wiltfong of 247 this am:

Just talked to Brandon Joggerst, the head coach at O'Fallon.
Not sure what Ryan and the guys have reported here but Joggerst tells me Hendrix is still very happy with Tennessee.
With that being said, Hendrix could still visit Mizzou this weekend. Mizzou was in the school yesterday. Tennessee had Stripping and Azzanni in yesterday as well. They may have stopped the visit. We'll see if he shows up in Columbia.
Joggerst thought Dewayne was happy with the Vols but couldn't say for sure what he'd do on NSD.

It is after 10 Central time and at this time, there is no sign of Dewayne Hendrix on campus at Mizzou.

With the rape cover hop story breaking at Missouri, I am not as concerned. Parents get upset when they hear about those things happening.

One thing we can be proud of Dooley for is changing the culture at UT. He seems to have brought in some better character kids. He just did not win with them.

As he posted in another thread, Pete has confirmed that O'Fallon defensive end Dewayne Hendrix is on campus. I know there have been some quotes from Hendrix saying that it would be very difficult to get him to switch, but I was told this week if he made the visit, those chances would go way, way up.

Why would Hendrix all of a sudden decide to allow Missouri coaches into his home and then despite the arguments from the UT coaches, go to Missouri on an official visit?

Count me as one who believes that Missourii may have flipped Hendrix.

Hendrix is the top defensive linemen that we have committed. To lose him would do a lot of harm to the weak class of defensive linemen that we have coming in.

Rumor I read was that there's a certain female there ... this may be Otha Peters, part II.

As Justin Beiber is quick to point out, hormones make teenage boys do very irrational and stupid things.

...Our guys from Volquest did tell me that Hendrix's mother has been a proponent of him going to Tennessee throughout the process and they couldn't see him making a switch if mom wasn't on the trip. We have not 100% confirmed that his mother was on the trip, but I do know it was expected she would be...
