The Vols linebacker recruiting seems to be picking up some momentum. From what others are saying, we look good on Dillon Bates, Greg Miclisse, and DeShaun Davis.

I am starting to hold out some hope that the Vols might also be in the thick of it for Petera Wilson, the linebacker from White Station. Two months ago he wasn't even mentioning UT. Jason Carr is working on him.

Some info from prospect Petera Wilson
Quote:

"Three factors. Them being the home-state school. They have one of my former teammates, Jason Carr," Wilson offered. "And I feel the love and I understand the program and I actually believe they have something good going on down there. They are definitely contenders."

"Non-stop talking to them on the phone, mail from them 24/7 and they constantly tell me how much they love me and how much they want me to be down there. You can tell it's genuine," Wilson said.

"At a certain point that's a big factor. But, it can also be a turnoff. It can be a negative if I'm only starting because there's no one else for the position instead I'm getting to play early because I understand the playbook and I know what I'm doing on the field," Wilson said. "I believe, for Tennessee, it's a positive thing after talking to the coaches because they tell me I won't get on the field unless I learn the playbook."

"I'm hoping to get to know the new coaches and see the new facilities because last time I was there they were still under construction so I want to see what all has been built since the time has passed," Wilson added.

R U getting any kind of read on Wilson because I'm not? Don't count Hugh Freese out of this one.

It is Bama, Ole Miss, and the Vols. I hope that Carr and Jarnell Stokes can help reel him in.

We will need JC DL, LB and OL, imo. Instant physical and emotional maturity.
