Jones' recruiting has never been spectacular. Ever. Not anywhere he's ever been, and it certainly was not spectacular in the '13 class for UT. This is exactly why I (and Rev) are concerned, have been concerned, about him being the coach. Everything else looks good.

However, that said: this class is shaping up to be spectacular. I'm in 'show me' mode....and this is a hell of a good start. If Jones can keep this up we'll all be happy. Except with UT's luck as "team cup", he'll be successfull then bolt to go coach Alabama when St Nicky leaves or soemthing.

One of the things us fans have learned the past few years is that the two people hired by Hamilton to replace Fulmer weren't the answer. I thought it was time for Fulmer to go, but unlike most people I knew replacing him with someone to improve the program wouldn't be as easy as many claimed. The past four years has proven I was right. Since Hamilton is now gone and our new AD qucikly desposed of the last Hamilton football hire (and worst hire EVER in the SEC), I think Jones has already been an improvement over Dooley but I want to see his gameday coaching decisions next season before determining how good he may be.

Jones has reopened the doors to media and former Vol players. I've talked to a couple of players and they like Jones and the staff a lot better than the previous one. The 2013 recruiting wasn't as good as some had hoped, but it wasn't bad. The 2014 recruiting has started out very good and I'm hoping it will continue.

Unlike some on here who has an orgasm every time a coach speaks or a recruit mentions UT, you should stay in the 'show me' mode. I believe Coach Jones will be successful, but I'll wait and see how well he coaches with what he has this season, and how he closes in recruiting for 2014.

No one has said he can't play tailback. The discussion has been what would happen if he got taller. Many of us saw him play in the championship game and have seen his videos. Obviously at this point in time, he is a truly gifted running back.

I've seen him listed at 6'3" and 231 lbs. Is that his size or the # exagerated?

Actually DinNardo was a good football coach. He was the guy you wanted to come in and gut your team and start the rebuild. Saban won a national championship with someof his players at LSU.

Hurd is now up to 235 according to some tweets I've read. The guy may be a beast for us. We could use him in 2013.

Two UT commits, Jalen Hurd and Joe Henderson walked away with Ohio State's camp MVPs for their positions. You know that Herban is not through recruiting these two kids.

Jalen Hurd is a beast in 1-on-1 situations.

Recruiting analyst and writer for Eleven Warriors | Scarlet and Gray Every Day - formerly of Rivals

Jalen Hurd is going to be a very good player for Tennessee. He has been dominating in 1 on 1 drills

OSU writer for 11w

This should put to rest any speculation that Hurd is too tall to play RB and will play another position in college.

I am not a star worshipper, but I do find it hilarious that the recruiting services have Jalen Hurd in the top 10-15 players in the nation, in the top 2 or 3 at RB but do not have him listed as a five star player. Speaks volumes about recruiting services playing up the kids who commit to where they sell the most subscriptions.

Jalen Hurd has been invited to The Opening. It is a very prestigious honor that will also help with recruiting other elite players
