JONES (on the facility): I had done my research, I had watched the virtual tour. At the end of the day it is about developing your players.

JONES: We are working extremely hard to make everyone proud.

JONES (on favorite part of college football): The pageantry of college football. The traditions at Tennessee makes us who we are.

JONES (on the defense): We do have the talent. It is the individuals coming together to play. You can't give up big plays.

JONES: It is developing a mindset. It is the overall physicality. It is the mindset of a winning team.

JONES (on the offense): An execution based offense. We are going to take care of the football. We are going to be balanced.

JONES (on recruiting): The big thing is finding the right fit for your program. We want winners. There is a whole big formula.

JONES: There isn't anybody more impatient than me. Our mentality is being born each and everyday.

JONES: Losing is a disease. You have to stop losing before you can start winning. It starts with bringing your A game every day.

JONES: That is what Tennessee is. It is all about tradition That is what makes it special. I am an individual who embraces it everyday

JONES: It is a pride of who we are. The logo never comes off.

JONES (on the Volympics): It is all about leadership. It allows me to gauge where we are at. Our players are extremely competitive.

JONES: Our Vol for Life program has a portion on personal branding and how to use it to your advantage.

JONES: Social media is a sign of the times. It is a great way to reach our fans and it is a great thing for recruiting.

Under Justin Wilcox, the same players performed light years better than theyndid under Sal Sunseri.

I do notmhaventhe films to study, but it was very obvious that many of our issues were alignment related. Thosemtype of things can be rectified this spring and summer.

What we have lacked were top speed players in the secondary.

Wilcox's 2011 defense finished a very respectable 28th in the nation in total defense.

Not merely the same players, but the talent level improved under Sunseri. Yet Sunseri managed to reduce a potential top-20 defense into one of the worst in the nation. The most boneheaded of hires ... I honestly can't think of a Tennessee football hire that was worse in my lifetime.

Sal probably had better talent than Wilcox had.

Our players fit a 4-3 better than the 3-4. Sal's ego over ran his arse and just would not let him play zone, more. If Butch will 80% zone this bunch, it will give us a chance.

It's still a head scratcher why Dooley allowed this knowing his ass was on the line this past season. The only thing I could think of he believed it would be an excuse to buy him more time.

He was wrong...very very wrong.

Sal talked a good game. He name dropped John Fox and how he had worked for Fox several times. I admit that I bought into his line of BS. In reality, he was as lost as Anderson Cooper in a friggin whorehouse!
