None other than his majesty, Big Pappa Plump. Sadly, yours truly was not invited to the function. He also made a stop at Dyersburg High School. He told local sports guy that he would be receptive to corching again if the right situation presented itself to him! Also, guess which team he told the kids was his favorite Vol team that he corched? Hint, it wasn't 1998.

Good man, great coach.

Nice to see him enjoying his retirement and getting some respect.

After all, he probably did more good things for UT football than any other coach in it's history.

Thanks for the link Warner.

I will say this about him. When I was involved with Chimes for Charity, a local fund raiser for underpreviledged kids at Christmas, he would always send us several items to auction off and they always went high.

Rev,
A couple of people claiming to have connections at ETSU started those rumors. Local guy axed him about ETSU and that's when he gave the answer about the right job deal again.

Favorite team: 1994 squad that lost Jerry Colquitt, then Todd Helton and had to go to a freshman QB by the name of Manning. They started 1-3 that year, finished 8-4 and No. 22 in the AP final poll.

That brings back some memories.

Manning was a lanky, skinny little runt.

Takes me back to the days of the Manning / Stewart competition.

Helton could have kept playing. His injury was one of those "ok I'm going to make millions playing first base not playing football...so yeah, let Peyton play" kind of injuries.
