http://247sports.com/Season/2013-Football/CompositeTeamRankings According to 247 sports, Tenn finished 25 in the country. Tenn was rated 11th in the SEC. If Tenn was in the Big Ten, we would finish 4th. Only Mich, OSU, and Neb (who finished 23rd) are ahead of us. I am afraid the conference is so competitive that the teams will kill off one another and an OSU or Mich will win the NC by playing a soft schedule. Nationwide we look good but in our conference we are a bottom feeder. At least we are ahead of Vandy in the rankings. |

weird isn't it - how well tOSU recruited the state of Georgia.. As to the competitiveness within in the conference - wellllllll - the soft underbelly continues to get softer - Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, UGa has now entered the 1st runner up position (again look at what tOSU did in the state of Georgia) Florida appears to be the only team that isn't just in the conference to cash the paychecks. In the West - looks as if Ole Miss is serious about football. Alabama signs 5 RB's who would be starters at most of the SECE teams, LSU OL and DL haul - the same thing - dominating incoming freshmen talent, lots who would start for a majority of SECE teams, A&M, AU - well the same thing can be said about their recruiting in 2013. Arkansas - if Collins can get his momma on board - should be okay. That leaves MSU kinda out in the cold. |

Saban in signing 5 top RBs, is doing what John Wooden (with the help of Sam "Pappa" Gilbert) did at UCLA. He locked up the 15 best basketball players in the nation, so that nobody else could get them and compete against him. |

About a hour ago I was listening to the radio in the car and they said IIRC that per Rivals UT was ranked 20th? Also said 11 of 14 SEC teams finished in the top 25....only Mizzou....KY....Ark finished outside the top 25. |
