We lost out on our top two defensive players (Lawson and Levenberry) on the board and our top offensive player on the board. Tomorrow may suck bad. |

Tux, UT has the best staff in the country. They can make chicken salad out of chicken shit. It was going to be a tough sell for Jones anyway. He's got to win some games this season. I don't think he knows what he just stepped into when he joined the SEC. |

Jones knows exactly what he got into. To think you knew and he didn't is ridiculous. |

Toto....you're not in the MAC or Big East anymore!!! Big stadiums and nice new athletic centers don't mean shit to kids...winning does...something we haven't done in awhile. Got to give kids something they can believe in...There is a big difference in TALKING about being a program on the upswing and SHOWING kids we are. CBJ has to win games...plain and damn simple. |

Jones better be able to out-coach his SEC competition, by a wide margin. |

If he knows exactly what he got into AND he brings all those Big Least recruiters with him, then either (a) he is stupid. or (b) he doesn't know what he got into. |

Who is Jancek recruiting? Who has Stripling been bringing to the table? Who has Elder been bringing to the table? It has been Thigpen, Graham, and Martinez who have brought anyobdy who us somebody to the table. We need more SEC recruiters. |

Just watch the meltdown when Bell goes to OSU, Johnson reconfirms for OSU, Boyd stays with Pitt, Bellamy goes to UGA if they will open a spot for him, Ford goes to AU despite them having 2 TB's already committed, Brown sticks with Syracuse, and to top it off we see Miller sign with Furman or some dipshit school instead of UT. Until we ramp back up the Hostess Program, start recruiting girlfriends for some female athletic scholly, having boosters pay to a kids local church, using Street Agents to funnel money to recruits, etc we aren't going to get recruits. And you don't get recruits, you don't win. UT and Jones KNOW what to do but will they do it??? |

BJ is going to have to land about every remaining lean to salvage this defensive class. He will need to get Jaylen Miller, Malik Brown, Vonn Bell. We need some guys like Trey Johnson or Frank Herron to flip. On offense we need to lamd Tyler Boyd. It looks like Fordis Auburn bound. |

I am hearing from VolDave that Von Bell is heavily leaning towards OSU. Frank Herron visited the other UT- Texas- last weekend. He never visited UT after Dooley and Sal pissed him off. Trey Johnson is going to OSU. Not a complete bust of a class but damn close to being so. Will rival Phildo's 2008 class for being poor. Would have been even worse if Precious was still HC but at the end of the day it will be 10th or worse in the SEC. Not gonna help at all in SEC winning. |

Skeeter said that Bell and his family told BJ that he would sign with Tennessee earlier tonight. |

Well, as I posted somewhere earlier, I only expect Bell and Miller to be added to our current verbal list ... I thought 11berry was the only impact player who might flip, but when that didn't happen I now have no expectations that this staff will do anything this year. Just as I feared. But, we'll know much more by noon tomorrow ... please let me be wrong. Please ... please. |

His first class is next year. You can't lay much blame on Jones for this class. I'm just glad he might get Bell. |

Rev So you think Jones is stupid. You're right if he didn't know what he was getting into. At least you're on the record calling him stupid. Let's hope your insight is wrong. |

No. I don't think he's stupid. I think he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. Naive is the word that comes to mind ... the main thing that has driven me bonkers was not bringing in more coaches that had SEC recruiting experience / relationships. The SEC is not just about who can coach the best. I'm sure he has a good coaching staff, but I believe recruiting is 60% of the job. But, perhaps he has the raw talent on this staff to be good recruiters down the road, and 2013 is just a blip. Edited by OrangeRev, Feb 6 2013, 12:21 AM.
