But almost certainly rivals some of the Kensucky defenses as THE worst Defenses the SEC has EVER seen in the entire history of the SEC. Just gave up a cool 358 yards to fucking Troy in the 1st half alone. As someone said over on OM, the defensive players are not even listening to Buddy Hackett as he is screaming at them. He doesn't garner any respect and it looks like the Defense may have just thrown in the towel. And stop with this excuse of changing to a 3-4 defense as the cause. This is just a cluster. Could Drool's not even get interviews from anyone but the bammer OLB coach as his DC??? Majors fired Donahue halfway thru the 1988 season. What is Buddy Hackett still doing on our sideline? |

I'm not typically a person who believes in firing someone mid season, but if ever there was a coach that needed to be fired (because I think he's creating more harm than good), it is Sunseri. 719 yards allowed by the defense. That has got to be a record somewhere. Edited by OrangeRev, Nov 3 2012, 03:03 PM.

Thanks so much Scott Fargas and Groover Gill. It's ain't how, it's how many. Vols beat Troy by a bigger margin than Miss. St. did. It must suck to not be able to enjoy a win, instead sitting like a vulcher ready to launch into another tirade dissing the team and the coaches. And yes, I agree with Rev. Sunseri needs to be relieved of duty and Conklin installed as DC this week. How hard you two boys gonna be pulling for ole Mizzou next week? |

Burning Man, 2009 FOREVER

We are giving up 450 yards per game...BEFORE this game. Now we are going to be up to like 485 or something per game, and will drop back closer to dead last (down to about 110 or so in the country) I cant believe how bad this defense is. And I actually expected them to be bad before the season even started. Sunseri getting 900k+ for 3 years w/ a 3 year deal is just theft. |

I will say this is the worst secondary I have ever seen at UT. Pretty bad when your best DB is a former walkon running back, Jaron Toney. |

We should never kick off again. We should only do onsides kicks. It's probably the statistically more likely way for us to keep the other team from scoring. |

Anyone that would agree to giving a coordinator a guaranteed contract needs to have their position reevaluated. I am getting tired of the excuses, and they are falling on deaf ears in Big Orange Country. This happened against Akron, Georgia State, and now Troy!!! If this is what UT football has become, it's time to drop down to the MAC or Sunbelt conferences. |

At this point it's a forgone conclusion that Dooley is toast. The only redeeming value in our losing this game would have been that nobody with an ounce of brain matter could argue that it was time for him to go. So....I'm pulling like hell for us to close strongly, win a bowl, hire a studly head coach and land some big recruits. At least the new coach won't have to deal with having a bare cupboard. With a couple of very strong classes we could be pretty good. Who would have thought that Dooley's strongest point was recruiting???? |

I told myself earlier in the year i wasnt going to do this again, but I looked at SEC team defense statistics for the last 10 years. The only SEC defense, in that timeframe, that was worse than this UT defense is MSU's defense in 2003...they gave up This is the worst defense the SEC has seen in at least a decade. My guess is, probably longer than that...but I'm not looking it up anymore because it's freaking depressing. Edited by Zippy, Nov 3 2012, 06:02 PM.

CONKLIN??? Is he the Safety Coach who was coaching at the Citadel this time last year? The problem with shitcanning Buddy Hackett 5 minutes ago is: 1) The Safety coach was coaching at The Citadel this time last year. 2) The CB coach was a Grad Assistant just 2 years ago at this time and last year was coaching at a 3rd tier FL school in his 1st year as a real coach. 3) The DL coach was out of work (as was the TE/Special teams coach) when Drool's hired him and last coached at MTSU. 4) The DC wasn't anything but the OLB coach at Bammer last year. And just think, wages and other Doolanders thought this was an improvement over the 7 assistants who fled the sinking SS Dooley for lateral jobs last December. Just an amazingly BAD group of HC and Assistants at UT. The talent isn't great but the coaching is atrocious on this UT team. |

Zipster, At this rate I would be really surprised if this wasn't one of the Top 3 worst Defenses stat wise in SEC History as far as a) Points Allowed and b) Yards allowed And this crap has been there with Akron, GA State, and Troy for the 3 patsy's on the schedule, so no one can say we are getting rung up by juggernaut SEC offenses. Todays 718-721 yards sets an all time UT record for suckitude on defense. |
